★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Blackie's has good food at good prices. Their service is excellent. You can order some dishes that are made table side which is very entertaining. I have been coming to San Carlos for five years and this is the best and most consistent restaurant that I have found.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Not impressed with the food, but the service was good. I changed my mind about what kind of salad I wanted, but they brought it to the table anyway and we were charged for it. It was unremarkable, and so were the Cesar salads. We sent our mustard steaks back to be cooked a little more. By the time they were ready, our table mates had finished their food. Was expecting a baked potato, but received two tablespoons of mashed.
Have been hearing about that restaurant for years. First visit and the last!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was our first time eating at Blackie's. We both ordered the petit chateaubriand, it was seriously the best steak I've had in years. Armando prepared it tableside and it was cooked to perfection, so tender and flavorful. Armando was very attentive, even with multiple parties having flambe. We shared a flan for dessert. My husband thought it was too "eggy" but I enjoyed it. The vibe was relaxed, music was unobtrusive, just instrumental Mexican ballads. All in all a very pleasant experience. We will be back and will recommend it to friends.
