Just of the beach. Great views and reasonable prices. Pay in Mexican pesos and you will end up paying less than in US dollars. Very good fish menu. Always fresh. We enjoyed the freshly made guacamole and chips with Pico de Gallo. Nice selection of cold beers. Good internet, better than at the beach Cafe's.

Man, I wish I had read the Google reviews before going here. The problem is that this place used to be fantastic. The owner of the condo we stayed at listed Dona Celia as having the best lobster tacos ever. Unfortunately, his list was several years old and the place has changed ownership/management. The lobster tacos were extremely salty and dry and actually tasted awful. Then the check came... This was our second outing in Huatulco. Earlier that same day we had lunch at Jessymar (also in Santa Cruz). The food was not inexpensive, the drinks and food were delicious, and the service was outstanding. After a day swimming (Jessymar let us leave all of our belongings at the restaurant while we swam), we decided to mix it up and try the "best lobster" tacos at Dona Celia. We closed out our bill at Jessymar and were pleasantly surprised to find the bill matched our calculations. We noticed there was no sales tax and no additional fees or charges. A very nice surprise and a stark contrast to what followed later at Dona Celia. At Dona Celia, the bill was 11% higher than what we calculated. When we told the waiter he was very rude and said this was a standard fee with taxes and other fees "mas o menos". We paid the bill, but left no tip since it was obvious they had inflated the bill. DO NOT EAT HERE!! No business should not get away with this now that we are armed with information on social media. In the days following, several locals said that the bill should only include what you ordered and that adding the extra tip automatically was a way to rip off touristas AND locals. Learn from our mistake. Edit: Had to include that the prices at Dona Celia were outrageously high compared with anywhere else we ate in Santa Cruz. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

We went here on our first night in Huatulco and the service was great as well as the atmosphere. They seemed to be winding down but they served us no problem. And the service was great. So why the two stars? Because we were over charged $300 pesos, which ain't much but it was enough for me to write this review while still on vacation! Ask questions twice even. This is not a one time incident I've cringe too find out so don't let this happen to you.

I read the reviews about how people said they got over charged but I was a little skeptical about it. But long behold... when we got the bill after eating they tried to charge us more!! And when I brought it up the waitress she acted dumbfounded. Please please be aware of your bill if you decide to eat here. They do take advantage of their customers. The food was good but I will never go back. How can a restaurant like this stay open. Be sure not to tip too because the tip is included. There are better restaurants to eat if you want seafood. And you won’t be taken advantage of. Shame on this restaurant. Dishonest people.

This is a great place to go if you want to get sub par seafood and then overcharged at the end. Seriously, this is a place where you have to keep tabs of what you order and how much you should be paying because if you don’t pay attention they’ll add 1,500+ pesos to your tab and then play dumb when they get caught. Even worse the owner was laughing when we found out what they were trying to do. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. DO NOT COME HERE unless getting scammed is your idea of a good time.

Terrible service ! They forced you consume more food than you can eat. The food doesn’t taste good at all and in our case our plate had a hair! I lost my appetite! Never ever will come back!

Ok, there are tons of horrible reviews about this place charging extra for stuff and cheating people out of their money. We just went there and the food was pretty good and our bill was exactly what it was supposed to be with no bogus charges or extra tip/propina. We also got to use their table/chairs/umbrella for the whole day as included with our food. You can't really beat that. Give this place a chance.

I came to this restaurant on the beach in Santa Cruz (cruise ship harbour) in Huatulco, Mexico 14 years ago and had the incredible hollowed out pineapple filled with oxoaca cheese shrimp and pineapple (a must have and still on the menu) and it became my favourite place on the beach where they will even provide an umbrella, reclining chair while you eat and drink. The menu is vast including everything from the best nacho’s in Hautulco to full lobster dinner to filet mignon and pasta - all amazing and good size and good prices. When it comes to drinks cold and my beautiful wife says Pina Collada is huge and very tasty. Staff are wonderful all dressed in black pants and Dona Celia shirts which is nice. No pushy waiters trying to get you to sit but instead a restaurant that draws its repeat customers time after time. The decor in on the beach with a Palapa roof colorful wooden chairs with matching tables with beautiful hand wove table clothes. No cheap plastic tables and chairs
