Como en muchos barrios de la ciudad de México, las cantinas siguen jugando ese rol de centro de encuentro social, encuentros incluso no programados ocurren ahí, en donde concurren dos amigos que se encuentran ahí por coincidencia. El encanto de poder beber una cerveza y elegir la botana del día que es lo más parecido a una comida corrida alegra el momento. Solo bebida es para tristes. En las Pecosas, aterrizan guisos sencillos pero luminosos como los que podrían reinar en la casa de cualquier familia de la ciudad. Eso le da un encanto casero. En mi reciente visita, además de la Negro Modelo que elegí, pude acompañar el trago con una sopa de crema de chicharos y tortitas de papa con ensalada de lechuga. Aaah si. También albóndigas, pero esas no las fotografie, porque me las comí antes.
A city must also be lived through its canteens. As in many neighborhoods in Mexico City, the canteens continue to play that role of a social meeting place, even unscheduled meetings take place there, where two friends meet by coincidence. The charm of being able to drink a beer and choose the snack of the day that is the closest thing to a regular meal brightens the moment. Only drink is for sad. In the Freckles, simple but bright stews land like those that could reign in the home of any family in the city. That gives it a homey charm. On my recent visit, in addition to the Negro Modelo that I chose, I was able to accompany the drink with a cream soup of peas and potato pancakes with lettuce salad. Aah yeah. Also meatballs, but I did not photograph them, because I ate them before.

Y eso es poco porque 1 ocasión nos querían meter 1 comanda con 8 cervezas de más
