Most of the food would only be appreciated by hard-core Mexicans! The buffet restuarant next door isn't much better but on Fridays and Sundays they include barbequed cecina, chicken and chorizo!

We ended up eating breakfast here every morning of our week-long stay in Oaxaca (except one, which I will tell you of in a bit). All you can eat, a little different every day. The employees work really hard and the food is great, especially for the price. Omelettes, grilled meats and chorizo, various fruits, chilequilles. My favorites are the picadillo and a new way (for me) of having hot cakes: with sweetened, condensed milk and jam instead of syrup. Yum. It's a great deal. Warning: for variety we tried the place next door. Terrible. Don't do it. If El Sabor is crowded, there's a reason and it's wirth the wait. Patio seating is a nice option, too.

A very cheap but good AYCE buffet (50 pesos) that has brekkie until noon and lunch until 5pm. The selection is a little bigger than the buffet next door (also 50 pesos). The first dishes in the line often have more bone than meat, but the items at the end of the line seem to have more meat. You pay in advance and it's cash only. Sit in the back to avoid the street noise.
