Restaurante Hacienda Teya - 97000 Mérida

The place is super nice and warm, staff is very welcoming and the food was delicious (portions are copious!)

Terrible service - twice. I hate writing bad reviews, but twice in the last week, we've been met with incredibly rude service here. We initially came last weekend, but when we went to check-in, we were told we made a reservation at their location at Paseo 60 and were quickly ushered out. Fair enough - that was our bad, but we were still taken aback by how we were treated. Figuring they were just having an "off" night, we made a reservation last night at the correct location via OpenTable. When we showed up a few minutes before our reservation, the hostess asked to see the reservation and quickly told us we had the wrong location. We showed them the email confirmation from OpenTable (with their address - we were at the correct restaurant) and the hostess went to get someone else who told us that they were fully booked and OpenTable hadn't (apparently) reflected that. The hostess and other staff person (I'm guessing manager) were very cold and rude about it and offered no sort of apology or attempt to rectify the situation - just told us they had no room for us. We ended up going across the street to Apoala, who made room for us and treated us incredibly well. We are in Merida for a month, but after these two experiences with TEYA, we will never be returning nor recommending this location (or their other locations) to anyone.

What a beautiful setting for an absolutely delicious dinner. My friends and I were lucky enough to enjoy a meal during the soft opening of this new location. Both of the cocktails were perfect; one being something of a mix between a green juice which included chaya and mezcal and the other a light gin based drink. The dishes that really stood out included a pumpkin based veggie spread that kind of looked like a steak tartare, carne asada tacos with some incredible salsas, and a burger with mouth watering beef. Lastly, the flan also stood out. The ambiance was really cool with high ceilings, warm colors, and background music that was trendy but not in your face, perfect for having conversation at your table. Definitely recommending to friends that'll be visiting Merida, and props to whoever designed the place and the head chef.

Service was excellent until 2-3 more groups showed up to sit indoors. I guess the servers didn't want to bear with the heat. Sit indoors if you want an attentative staff. Food was great and tastes authentic.

Truly amazing place. Pricy but worth it. The outside terrasse and bar at the end is very cute. The food was authentic and great quality.

I don't understand how could chicken breast taste so amazing. And the mesero recommended two cocktails with mezcal which were absolutely refreshing and stunning.

Delicious dinner, friendly staff and beautiful restaurant in central Merida. Highly recommended. You must try the Tostones de Salmon, soo amazingly delicious! And the Sopa de Lima was also exceptional!

The ambiance is 10/10 but the food is not even close to that. It’s not bad by any means but the flavors are quite basic, we heard amazing things from their main restaurant at Hacienda Teya which is a few miles away but it does not translate to this chain. We wouldn’t go back for the food, we might go back for a drink and to enjoy the ambiance. Also, you have to be patient with the waitstaff, they seems to forget somethings you order or take too long.
