Fine dining in a conceptual phase: the room is elegant, dim lit and has a nice vibe. Very open and direct connection with the chef team. Some dishes are exquisite, some are finding there way to that level. Go here!

I came across Lorea when looking up places to eat in Mexico City. I think there are some good things about this place for sure. The ambiance and decor are really chill. The cocktails were actually very delicious. For food, we opted to not do the tasting menu and started with the Huitlacoche Quesadilla Soup which was delicious. The roasted Leek was our other starter which was unique but very good as well. The sauce and Parmesan cheese all made for very delicious bites. The house made bread with butter was also very tasty. The issues I had with our meal were two fold. First was our entrees. My wife had the pastrami which she mentioned was way over salted. Keep in mind she tends to enjoy saltier flavors so her saying that was surprising. I got the Huitlacoche Tacos which were just ok, not as good as the soup. The second issue was service related. Granted we didn’t choose the tasting menu but it felt like we were an afterthought, and initially there were only a few folks there. Also, every time our water was filled, they just, didn’t fill it enough. We had to keep asking for a normal amount of water which I thought was odd. Plus the table next to us was getting normal water refills

Decent but hardly incredible. Enjoyed the Chile and Huitlacoche but the beef in the Mole negro was really tough. Also the beverage pairing did not represent value for money and felt incredibly stingy with only half pours. Total was around $3400 for one person

I made a lunch reservation and didn’t realize it was a la carte instead of tasting menu which was fine. When I was seated for lunch, they gave me two menus that were both tasting menus, one even had my name personalized on it! So this got my hopes up but which were then deflated when they told me it was a mistake and was still doing a la carte. Other than that, service was impeccable. As for the food: Huitlacoche quesadilla soup was way too salty. I understand the Huitlacoche is supposed to balance that out but as it absorbs the soup, the whole thing becomes too salty. Pastrami was strongly flavored and the chickpea purée was simply amazing but yet again, the dish was too salty. Possibly a little less au jus sauce with the sweetness added bringing out too much of the salt levels. Honey dessert was pretty tasty, but just a little bit too much olive oil. The drink I had was amazing with a nice refreshing balance of tart from the grapefruit and sweetness from the syrup and lavender. After tax and tip, the meal came out to $60USD ($1200 MXN) which included one alcoholic beverage, one espresso, bottled water, appetizer, main and dessert so price was fairly reasonable for a higher end restaurant but the food left a bit to be desired (too much salt that I couldn’t finish the appetizer and main)

Lorea is a culinary experience that should not be overlooked when booking your trip to Mexico City. We were lucky to find the a table. We went with the tasting menu and had about 10 courses. Each course was great and was given with explanation from the chef or waiter. Service was top notch and the selection of drinks were great. Definitely consider this place when going to Mexico.

5 star restaurant! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, the food was delicious, lots of mezcales (even rare ones), tequilas, wine.. They paid attention to some details, this was the most impressive we ever had. If you want a great, different experience, try it! It’s expensive, but is also worth it.

Took my friends from out of town here for a unique fine dining experience and Lorea delivered! I was worried about the negative reviews but their menu changes constantly so I decided to go and find out for myself. Glad I did. The waiters were kind and very attentive. The food was thought provoking and delicious. My friends and I had a great time.

I had such an incredible experience here! This is one of my favorite restaurants I’ve ever been to! The food was out of this world delicious and creative, the service amazing, and one of my favorite tasting menu experiences. I felt like the tasting menu portion was very generous and super reasonably priced. I love this restaurant and will be returning next time I’m in Mexico City! Highly recommend!
