Restaurante Plaza - 37800 Dolores Hidalgo Cuna de la Independencia Nacional

This is one of the best Mexican restaurants I have ever been too. I totally recommend this, the service is great everything is delicious!

My friend gave a ride, we live in two separate houses, they didn't let me in.ut doesn't make any sense!!!

I ordered the cheese enchiladas with mole sauce. They gave me the one chicken one. The second one was cheese, but the mole sauce had chicken in it. They knew I am vegetarian, so why didn't they just tell me that the mole sauce has chicken in it?! On top of that there was a piece of aluminum foil in the meal as well. Finally, both the enchiladas and mole sauce were sub par, for above average price.

Excellent fare, decently priced, FANTASTIC coffees! Worth the trip from San Miguel or Leon or Guanajuato city. My favorite restaurant in Dolores for the past 10 years. I posted a photo of the visible menu. Great view in the daytime of the Miguel Hidalgo monument and the Church of the Grito. They have much respect to the arts and events in the city. They turn off their dining room's music when city-paid musicians (like the talented Lalo Dominguez the piano player) begin to play in the Gazebo outside, out of respect to the musicians. Edit 13/4/2018 I went again today with my wife and her sister in law. We ate very, very well. The total price was only about $900 pesos for 3 adults and one child. It may sound like that is a lot of money but we all had steak. My steak was perfectly done. Our server, Brenda, suggested the melon water which was so good that we ordered a second 2 liter pitcher. I took photos of their menu, minus the alcohol; I don't drink. I am loading the photos here now. I also took a photo of my steak plate with the Chistora appetizer added to garnish my plate. Honestly, the service is prime, the food is always fantastic. Be sure to tip well because they deserve it. Another nice thing... They respect the musicians of the city. My wife knows a man named Lalo who is paid by the city to play piano at the Gazebo in front of the restaurant. It was so nice that the restaurant owners turned off their in-house music so we could enjoy Lalo's piano playing. That act is remarkable, I took my nephew outside to the gazebo and held him up so he could watch and listen to a REAL piano player! Even at 2 years old, he was very impressed! Me, too. I love this city so much that I call it home, now. Dolores Hidalgo, you are a beautiful city with a very rich history. And some very fine restaurants.

We ordered our food and my family's meals were served in a reasonable time. Not so with what I ordered, my family finished eating and my food took more than an hour with no explanation, and it wasn't a dish that required special preparation, just simple beef broth which they already had, perhaps the kitchen should notify customers if they are having trouble fulfilling an order, to at least have the chance to pick something else from the menu.

Wanted to love the place, but our food took more than 1 hour to arrive and no one was telling us why. This with the restaurant not even half full, so there was no obvious reason. I asked three different waiters what was the delay about and never got an answer. We ended up asking up for the bill and left without the food or an explanation. We saw the same thing happening to a family of 4, so I assume the restaurant needs a better kitchen and a manager

We just found this place a few weeks ago & we love going to eat & have a few drinks. Service is friendly. Atmosphere is perfect for us. We will contunue to return.

This place was amazing!! First time here and we had the best service and food. We got the fillet, the Molcajete, Camarones a la plancha and micheladas.... the queso and guacamole were delicious.
