The experience was quite pleasant, the attention of the staff was especially good. The food and cocktails were excellent. We had to go now that they have remodeling or maintenance, so we could not try the tasting menu that they normally handle, but the a la carte menu that they have right now on the rooftop of the hotel without a name does not disappoint.

The best way to experience Oaxacan cuisine as a vegan. The tasting menu showcased the best of local ingredients and traditional flavours.

As a vegetarian I really like this place. The tacos de setas and the taco Baja are amazing! The salsas and the tlayudas are super tasty as well. Is not that easy to find tasty meatless places in general & this is a good one. The lounge is super chill and cosy & the terraza ideal to have some drinks with friends.

i’ll start with the positives: the venue. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous on the inside and you eat tatami (japanese style, super low and sitting on the ground) and honestly, that alone is what redeems the entire experience. The cocktails and bar program albeit small (only 2 original cocktails + mezcal cocktails with your choice of fruit) was also very good and enjoyable. The restaurant is 100% vegan which in Oaxaca is really not a big deal because so much of the gastronomy is already inherently vegan. The entire culture of regional food is “vegan” and I think it’s important to understand this as a set-of-expectations. The tasting menu is $800mxn and absolutely not worth it. Every single plate was underwhelming and really shines the inexperience of the head chef. To be in the absolute most “fine-dining” venue i’ve come across in Oaxaca and be served a super simple and underwhelming tamale smothered in mole exhibits such a lack of execution, creativity, experience and context that I was frustrated at the inferred waste of my dining experience. Having recently had an eye-opening, absolutely inventive and incredible all vegan tasting menu last month in a very humble 10 top room, having this meal at RSN was abhorrent. The “ramen” was the worst dish of all as it was literally a broth of zucchini & baby romaine leaves. THATS IT. nothing “ramen” about it at all. No noodles, kombu, tare, or anything at all that would have you reference or touchstone any ramen you’ve had before in your life. It was just a lackluster water bathe for zucchini and lettuce. Not even a mushroom! The dessert was easily the best dish and if i had to guess, the pastry/dessert chef is someone of experience and know how while the line/head chef, is REALLY lacking in all departments. Overall, i would say the venue is can’t miss but the food is sooooo lackluster, uninspired, underwhelming and bore that it almost feels like stealing given the context.

Amazing experience for vegans and non vegans! We tried the tasting menu, breakfast and lunch. These are the flavours Oaxaca is all about. Such a clever and delicious combination of dishes by a very skillful chef. The atmosphere in the place is so unique and relaxed. Table seats or low floor/cushion comfy seats. Highly recommended.
