Great day out with Angel 1h45 drive from Valladolid straightforward Got here and met Diego Booked a 3hr trip for 1200 pesos which included boat hire, guide, mud clay bath, swimming in cenote and beach and seeing all the wonderful wildlife and lagoons. The restaurant here overlooking the lagoon is a great place to eat too! Highly recommended thanks Angel!

Above and beyond expectations! We did the 4 hr Nature Lovers tour and ended up having a private tour just the two of us (me and my partner). We saw flamingos, crocodiles, herons, hawks, and so many other birds we lost count. Our tour guides were both extremely knowledgeable and skilled at what they do. The driver had such sharp eyes and would always find a bird or crocodile and then get us up close and personal. They did have fish to get them up close when we could do so safely. One close experience was at the Sendero Petén Mac and Chinquila area walking through the mangroves in a nature preserve. We went all the way to the salt flats and ended the day with a quick dip in the Gulf of Mexico on the beach near the mouth of the harbor. The binoculars, bird books, and water were nice extras too. After all of that they even offered us the showers at their restaurant location (very appreciated after a day of sun, water, and sweat). I'd definitely recommend this tour and company!

We had an excellent time with Saul on the 4 hour Nature Lovers tour. Saul made us feel right at home and was very knowledgeable about the local area and wildlife. He spoke very good English. We were lucky enough to see a saltwater crocodile as well as two freshwater ones, as well as many fabulous birds - even 10 flamingoes, despite it being out of their breeding season. We finished up with the Mayan mud bath, which was a lot of fun. There are a lot of unlicenced and inexperienced crews offering tours of the lagoon, but they have no respect for nature and approach far too close to the wildlife. So make sure you organise your trip with Rio Lagartos Adventures - you won't be disappointed!

Had an excellent outing with this outfit. They were able to accommodate us with no reservation and we went out with Carlos, a local guide who knows his stuff. Carlos is a local and knew the local flora and fauna intimately. He was on the constant lookout with his ears and eyes for interesting species and in particular knew how to spot interesting bird species. (We had a couple great Tiger-Heron sightings, and he called out many more.) And seeing the flamingoes did not disappoint. He was invested in our enjoyment of the tour and quickly got a sense of what was important to us. Strong recommend!

Carlos was one the best guides we've EVER had. He shared so much information on the area. Learned about all the birds and plant life. Saw flamingo and a crocodile. Would highly recommend!

In Rio Lagartos everyone tries to sell you a boat Tour and this one is more pricey then the most offers but I think its worth it. I can't campare the service after I haven't done a tour with anybody else but Carlos is a great Guide. I really felt it was well spent money.

We had an amazing time! Our guild was Ariel and he was fantastic! He could spot a crocodile from so far away! We got to see flamingos, frigates, and roseate spoonbills! Our last activity was the Mayan mud bath, and we had lots of fun with that :)

Great trip. Everything was organised, we stay at the hotel on site. Room was big and clean with view of the waterfront. Our guide Saul was very good. He knows where to go and show us many things. And flamingos are amazing.
