I called to ask the price of the haircut before checking on the web site, and I’ve been told it was $449, when on their site it is offered for $299.. disappointed that only because one is not Mexican, they will try to rip you off .. overly expensive and very dishonest staff

It was easy to book online, which I appreciate. I am inconvenienced every day by my haircut. Every time I try to put my hair up and pieces from the front or back come crashing out, I curse this salon. I am very easygoing about haircuts in general so long as they respect my single request: I *need* to be able to put my hair up. I am very uncomfortable with my hair down at all, let alone 24/7 but that is somehow the life I am now living. This can't be the Robert i have heard about. Was it his evil twin!? I can only assume it was a bad day. I have never been more rushed around or consulted less. He didn't ask me any clarifying questions after I showed him a picture of my hair before and with covid I didn't want to push conversation, especially if he wasn't. My advice is to insist on discussing the plan in detail before he begins, even if he doesn't seem interested. I guess I am a snobby bear but the salon was not high end in appearance nor service in my opinion. To his credit he offered me a free service and his apologies by email.

Really nice, talented people once you are in there and one of the best wash and blow drys I have every gotten but the colour was the opposite of what I asked for and is now damaged from trying to fix it. I felt very rushed though even though I outlined what services I needed. Almost every service and salon in Mexico is very communicative and responsive via Whatsapp, instagram etc and RAS does not engage, respond at all on any of these platforms or email or text even though they said they would - this was extremely frustrating and I should have taken this as a red flag. This place is generally great and amazing lavar y secar but if you are particular about your hair don't want to be an orange head....

Let me start by saying I am happy with my hair. The stylist did a good job with my highlights which is why I am not giving this experience a one star review. What I am unhappy with is being charged 50% more than I expected to pay. Although this is still better than the 100% more that they asked for when went to pay at the end of my appointment... I paid the amount for the highlights in advance online - fine. When I got to the salon my stylist asked if I would like the Olaplex treatment as well. She showed me the amount it would be and she said the total would be 2,000. I asked if this included the amount I had already paid and she said this would be taken off. When it came to paying at the end, I was asked to pay another 2,000 on top of the 1,000 I had already paid. The stylist told me she hadn't said that and had shown me a range of how much it could cost and that they can't give me an exact amount as they don't know how much the Olaplex will cost until they've done it?! This is definitely not a conversation we had as I never would have agreed without knowing what the final cost would be. After going back and forth with the stylist and the receptionist and being offered a free Olaplex treatment in the future (not useful as I don't live in Merida), I was eventually offered to pay 50% more than I'd agreed. At this point I was angry and late to meet someone so I just agreed and left. EVEN IF this was a simple case of miscommunication it should be made much clearer what the customer is going to pay at the end. Reading past reviews this is clearly not the first time this has happened. It's a shame because until it came to the point of paying, I was very happy with the highlights and the service generally.

Because I don't speak Spanish, I was thrilled to be able to book my wash and blowdry appointment online. The appointment was smooth and I was happy with the end result. The Olaplex line they promote looks interesting, though I don't know that it was used on me. Will definitely return on a future visit.

Because I just moved to Merida a few months ago and my Spanish isn’t good, it was intimidating to make an appointment at a shop. I have a friend who recommended going to Robert Abuda. I was able to make an appointment online and I received a notification within minutes of doing so. Annie was my beautician and she did a wonderful job! I have very short hair and she took her time and I am extremely happy with my experience. The receptionist also speaks English so that was a plus for me! Thank you Annie and I will return in a month or so for a trim! Highly recommend!

The manicure I had four days ago was very disappointing. The gel wasn’t applied evenly and it started chipping within a couple of hours. They only have about a dozen colours to choose from as well. Not professional at all - unlike a couple of years ago when I had a great manicure at this location. Stick to doing hair and give up manicures!

One of the worst manicures I’ve ever had :( the shape was wrong, the colour wasn’t applied to evenly, there’s nail polish on my skin. They offered to fix it (the pictures are my nails after they’re fixed) and it came out worse. I now have to go to a wedding like this.
