★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Now that we've been home for a month and have remade several recipes learned from Rosie, I'm even more enthusiastic about how FANTASTIC this experience was! We had teenagers and adults in our group and everyone thought it was a good time. Looking back on this family trip, our time with Rosie remains a key highlight. Visiting an open stall market (rather than a grocery store) to purchase goods for what we'd be making is an incredible touch. I treasure the opportunity to tag along with a local to venture into a daily task that I'd otherwise never see or experience. Rosie's property / kitchen is a gem and, again, took me into a neighborhood that I wouldn't have seen. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND signing up for one of her classes and am eternally grateful to the friend that suggested it. ENJOY!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Rosie is the absolute best! This is the second time we took her cooking class and it never disappoints. The food you’ll make and then eat will be the best of your trip. We highly recommend the experience!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed cooking with Rosie! She picks you up and takes you to a market where she shares her knowledge of different foods, cooking applications and even medicinal secrets. Then it's off to her beautiful home where we met her wonderful family. Her husband is a tour guide; daughter is the media specialist and her son is an upcoming chef. We did not meet her other daughter and grandchild, but got to see photos!
I really enjoyed the rooftop tour of all of the fruit trees Rosie has grown from seed. Phenomenal! Then onto the cooking. I was intrigued by the open hearth grill and tortilla stone which we used, along with a tortilla press. Chili rellenos were my favorite. Plus, Rosie accommodated our wishes to make a labor-intensive dessert from her childhood. Truly a must have experience that was worth sharing the day with Rosie.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took my brother there as part of a gift for his 50th!! Not only did Rosie show us how to cook some amazing authentic Mexican food but we toured and learned about the local foods, plants l, her upbringing and how it played into her doing what she is doing now! She and her family were absolutely amazing! Luke and I feel it made our trip!! I can’t recommend more than to book with Rosie you so will not be disappointed!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best experiences I have done while traveling. Rosie picked us up and took us to a farmers market to grab all of the ingredients we’d be using for the day. She then invited us into her home for an impressively structured cooking class with amazing food. Would highly recommend to anyone thinking about it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I booked a cooking class with Rosie- we loved it! We started with a trip to a local market, where Rosie showed us how to choose the best ingredients and then travelled to her home, where we spent the rest of our time cooking and eating.Rosie’s stories of growing up in rural Mexico and learning to cook from her grandmother added so much to the class. The food was delicious and we enjoyed meeting and talking with some of Rosie’s family who help with the cooking school! We had a great time & I highly recommend Rosie’s Vallarta Cooking School!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We booked a private class for three, which included picking us up in the Romantic Zone, shopping for the ingredients at a mercado in Cinco de Diciembre, and then cooking (and eating!) at her spacious and stunning traditional-style home. We made guacamole, salsas, chips, tortillas, battered shrimp tacos, zarandeado snapper, the tastiest rice ever, sopes, and flan — all from scratch (even the vanilla was homemade). She dressed in traditional Jalisco dress to serve up a shot of añejo tequila with the flan, gave us a tour of her extensive herb garden, and a ride home from her husband, who’s also a tour guide. A wonderful day and we even brought home leftovers!
