Royalton Riviera Cancun, An Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resort & Casino - 77500 Cancún

I really don’t know where to start but Marriott should be ashamed to consider this hotel a part of their group. First, the food quality, specifically the meat, is absolutely awful. Second, the place is so run down. When we arrived to our room it had not been cleaned well and there was broken glass everywhere. The sheets had been stained and top covers had dirt on them. It was quite obvious. The carpets had stains all over them. It took me calling 9 times the first day to get a staff member or concierge/butler to assist me. Being a customer strategy exec, having to call more than once is unacceptable. Our room was moved the following day but I had to beg someone to clean our room the first day. Our new room was clean but it faced the nightly entertainment which happened till midnight every night. This was really difficult for our 4 and 7 year old. Lastly a major concern of mine is how the foam parties are conducted. They are so much fun for the kids but incredibly unsafe. Children basically get trampled on in the water and the foam covers their heads making it impossible to see them. There is a huge safety concern with the foam machine and the electric cords connected. It is placed so close to the pool that if it fell in it would electrocute the entire pool and kill everyone. I hate to be negative but this by far has been the worst resort we have stayed in. The only positive was they have certain staff members like Octavio and Franco from concierge that are top notch. They did their best to help our situation unfortunately there was too many negatives.

Highly recommend! Great resort! I celebrated my birthday here last week and I had an amazing experience. The service was exceptional! The food was pretty good and the restaurants had vegan/vegetarian options. Entertainment was also great! I felt that this resort did a great job with keeping guests safe. I am looking forward to returning to this resort in the future.

I would not come back here for a future visit. I have been to this area 3 times before to different all inclusive resorts and loved them. This place needs some help. Pros: Room was nice. Bed comfy. Big jacuzzi tub. Pool right outside patio door. All the staff is very friendly and helpful. I can't say enough nice stuff about the staff here. Cons: The food is awful. The portions are incredibly small. There is 24 hour room service but the options are a joke. I ended up stuck in the room all day on our last day because the food made me sick. They don't poor water out of obviously containers so I don't know if we ever drank tap water. There is no way to get into the city unless you get a taxi at around $40+ one way. The beaches are not nice which I understand is not the resorts fault. They can't control nature but if you're looking to venture into the water this isn't the place. The seaweed smell is overwhelming on the beach. The water is very cloudy. The drinks are very weak and the options are pretty limited for a resort. There was mold in the shower and part of it didn't work. I don't know if food quality is related to shortages that's been happening since Covid but that is my biggest complaint. I'm currently hungry and surrounded by free food. There are bugs that will bite you but I really don't think it's bed bugs like some other reviews have said. I'm pretty sure it's like a sand flea. I always throughoughly check my room for bed bugs before settling in anywhere and I saw no evidence in my room. The spa people are pretty pushy and I went but like everything else here, the experience was mediocre. I feel like this place has the potential to be great but it needs an overhaul to the food, maybe a shuttle into town for a smaller fee than a taxi and some upgrades to the buildings themselves as there is stuff broken, mildew etc. Plus the room credits are a joke compared to what I've gotten other places. Currently, you can get a whole lot more for the same price at a different resort

This is an overall 2 for me. Adult side is not worth getting because it's link in with the family side and majority of entertainment is on the family side. This entire resort can do better job managing their room cleanliness, and environment with mosquitoes. I switch to two different rooms, and both were completely the same. Filled with mosquitoes and barely cleaned. "Bring your off spray" I also happen to experience sun and rain when I went, and was able to see that the drainage system isnt good and that the roofs around the resort needs weather proofing. The Staff gets a 2 because majority of the staff wasn't friendly and welcoming, and the hand full of staff that were good deserves to be tipped and giving a raised. The location gets a 5star because it's only 20-25 minute from resort. Overall this is an beautiful resort, just needs better management.

Stayed here Jan 21-28. 2022 and seriously can't wait to go back. What an amazing stay. Diamond Club is definitely where it was at. Highly recommend it. This resort is absolutely beautiful and the service was also AMAZING. The highlight of this trip however was our Butler. Humberto. I would not stay at this resort again without having this gentleman take care of us. Ask for him by name if you're staying in the Diamond Club, you won't regret it. Second was the most energetic person we've ever met, our server on the beach and her name was Damaris. These 2 individuals should be commended on their service level as they made our stay one we will never forget. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. As for the resort itself, Beautiful, Beautiful, Beautiful. Great food, Service, Pools, Beach........ What more can you ask for?

We were a family of 11 adults & children, This was a great resort for families. Plenty of pools & entertainment. Because my husband has a bad knee we got upgraded to a room with a rooftop whirlpool that was closer to the pools & restaurants. Our room was very nice. The food was good ,not outstanding & it was difficult trying to make a reservation at the restaurants. Sometimes we were told we needed a reservation but then they couldn't make one! Very confusing but we never had to wait long for a table. The staff was always courteous and polite and very helpful. Some people complained this resort was not like it was 5 years ago when they were there but what is after covid? I think they are doing a good job & would go back.

Great resort! Staff are very friendly and accommodating. The restaurants are fantastic for dinner. (Buffet place is average) Very clean - great night entertainment. Our presidential swim up suite room was very large, clean, walk in closet, double shower and the swim up is heated! The beach was also very nice - there is seaweed but nothing major. Overall. Great resort. Keep up the great work! If you are worried about covid - we did not hear of any cases and have tested negative after 5 days. Israel in the buffet restaurant is the main man! His service was 10/10 always! Thank you!

The resort, surrounding views and atmosphere were stunning. The cleaning staff, waiters, pool staff, bartenders and food service crew were all incredible. We had 2 butlers as Diamond guests and could not believe how attentive and responsive and helpful they were. They scheduled dinners for us every day and kept us informed of options for activities, pool events, etc. Alex and Fernando were our Day and Evening Butlers and they were absolutely wonderful. We would definitely recommend a visit here and our minds were blown at how all-inclusive this all-inclusive resort was. It was isolated, but close to the airport. Quiet and relaxing during the day and fun and loud in the evenings. I cannot say enough good things about the time we had.
