RR Hostel - 24000 Campeche

Exceptional Staff!! Room was good, breakfast was good. Had a nice stay!

Not accurate to the pictures, they moved buildings. There is no A/C on the property, that means you’ll be dealing with 35+ degree heat until after midnight. There’s no mosquito nets so it’s a cointoss whether you’ll be eaten alive at night, sweating in bed. Hope you don’t need to sleep. Some beds are on the floor, I had bugs crawling on me, I hope none of them were baby bed bugs but I was being bit. The bathroom, everyone shares, is indicative of the entire place. Gross, non functioning and falling apart. At times you won’t have water to shower or use the toilet. Good hosts don’t save this disgusting and uncomfortable stay.

I do not really understand the very good rating of this hostel. For me the place felt a little digusting because of the situation of the bathroom, which is in a bad condition and my matrace, which I saw without bedsheet. Additionally I saw him throwing a guest out of the hostel, because she was sick. She said she was not really able to move because of it, but he did not care.

Rodrigo was the most charming host and yes the place needs some work and a bit of attention to hygiene but it's got some charm which is priceless and yes the location is perfect, I give this five stars for the overall experience of connection and location.

Really nice hostel with lovely atmosphere and awesome staff. Definitely recommended when going to Campeche. They recently moved to another building nearby, still working on some practicalities, nevertheless their helpfulness and friendliness make up for that small inconvenience!

This hostel has a lot of potential! It is in a new space that you can easily see how the staff (which is simply amazing) is building a magic project full of Mexican details that it makes feel you are at home. Campeche, an amazing city. I met someone there that said me; this city and the hostel has such special energy that makes me definitely want to return. Thank you!

I had the best time staying at Roy’s place. The new place is amazing with a great garden to chill, the rooms are so spacious and the overall vibe is so fun. Roy has a bunch of knowledge about Campeche, and Mexico in general so I would highly recommend consulting him about anything that comes up. Enjoy RR and Campeche.

Very nice place with awesome staff, you really felt welcome and almost like at home. The owner, Roy, is amazing, can answer all questions about what to do in the area, where to take which bus etc. The common areas are a good place to hang out, very thoughtful implementation of various Mexican traditions. E.g. at check-out you get to hang a ribbon with your wish on the wall. The rooms + bathroom still need some modernization. But I loved the bell right next to the shower so that you do not even need to leave the bathroom in case that there was no water. You ring the bell and they refill the tank within a couple of minutes (honestly, I think all Mexican hostels should provide this service :D). Really curious to see what the hostel is gonna look like once the ongoing renovations will be done. Definitely wanna go back, I had a really good time.
