★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Sure, the drink prices are shocking, but the food that comes with them is hearty and delicious. We went on a Sunday, so the menu was 90% seafood--everything was fresh and tasty.
I don't always love being too close to a mariachi band, but the band they had on Sunday was a real plus.
Remember to tip your food waiter separately from your drink waiter.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bring earplugs, it’s a very loud place, dress cool in the spring/summer as it’s quite hot inside. Free WiFi is a plus. Tip the food servers apart from the bar servers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was a great experience for us. I'm sure that we were the only non-locals in the restaurant. When we arrived there were a few tables left but within 20 minutes it was packed with almost every chair full. With drinks food is free, so we had two mezcal margaritas and two beers, then four plates of food including a pork shank, bistek, taquitos and tartare. All of them were excellent and the service was lightning fast. At 530 pesos this was maybe a third of what it would have cost in the US and people were so friendly that the value was uncountable. Multiple tables spoke up to help the foreigners trying to speak Spanish. That alone was worth the trip!

Everyone working was also great and friendly. Everyone was attentive to use when we came. Great atmosphere. Wonderful time here! Visit

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had tacos and margaritas. Dry tacos and the margaritas were awful. We later discovered that margaritas are not a thing in Mexico ?
2 points for the show! 3 people sang and it was fun to watch.
They have more waiters than clients, which makes it a little uncomfortable.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Friendly staff, beer is cold and food is good. Food starts at 2:00 then you can eat all you want from their daily menu as long as you have at least 2 drinks per person. Iconic place in CDMX highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pay for drinks and get your food. We liked the food and ambience with live music. Food menu changes daily or weekly. The cantina was continuously crowded while we were eating and drinking, and not with the tourists only.
