Salum - 77710 Playa del Carmen

A fun mix of beach and a bunch of different menus. Great to walk around before and after dinner. Churros... nuf said. Bit slower on the food so come ready to relax and have a few drink's.

Salum is the beachside markets and eateries at the resort. The nightlife at Salum is incredible, with beachside seating, DJs, and even fireworks on some nights! Salum caters to many cuisines, including mediterranean cuisine, Japanese cuisine, and American dishes. It's a very photogenic place with incredible lights and displays! To top it all off, Salum has its own shuttle stop, providing direct transportation from the hotels in the resort!

I liked Salum because I could order from 4 different restaurants at once. I sat at the beer bar my first time there and watch the football game. I ordered wings and this broccoli cauliflower vegetable side dish. It was really good. Good enough that I went back and ordered it again. The next time it was not nearly as good as it was the first time. I went back again and sat at the mixology bar to watch the New England Patriots football game and could not get waited on. I waited 20 minutes to get my first drink order during happy hour, and then 10 people sat at the end of the bar. They all were waited on for food and drinks before me. Even though I asked several times for someone to wait on me and brought this to their attention. I finally asked for a manager and after that I got service. It was very disappointing to have that experience. The second time I ordered chicken wings because they were so good the first time, and potstickers which never came. I also got this Mexican version of potato salad that actually was quite good.

This place is beautiful day and night!! gorgeous place to relax on vacation and definitely the perfect place for pictures.

Such a cool relaxing place. I really loved the concept of this place. There are about 6 restaurant in Salum and you sit in a common area and can order from any of the restaurants. I am traveling to Nuevo Vallarta and I hope they have something like this there.

This place is absolutely amazing. The area is filled with small boutique shops, eateries and restaurants. It is stunning. The whole place looks like a dream come true. Also, the restaurant service is the best I’ve ever had. The servers are extremely attentive and friendly. When it started raining they quickly took our food to another table under a roof. 10/10 visit this place if you can!!

Such a beautiful concept. A spacious outdoor fancy restaurant doors court. It’s about five restaurants/kitchens in one whole setting. If you want tacos but your partner wants sushi this is the place to eat. Besides the breathtaking scenery that sounds you, the food that’s incredible, the service is just outstanding. Everyone is just so pleasant and so patient with even the rudest customer (observed from afar). There’s live music at night near the stairs, the decorations are full of culture, there’s beautiful lights everywhere, swings that are above little pools, hammocks, sand/beach seating, restaurant seating, or bar seats available. Posted some pictures of the food (forgot to take them before digging in). From experience ribs are good if you aren’t coming from a rib state, the steak alambre with cheese get right now, onion rings are probably the best in the whole world, fries are too, burgers are delicious but the bun looks like everything seasoning on it but it’s not promise, fish is good, and the drinks i mean come on you’re on vacation get it all! In the end definitely eat here at some point or a couple nights for sure !

What a cute little village! The market is a great place to hang out, grab a bite or buy souvenirs. The restaurants are all great and open and I love the feature of sitting at the common open space and order from any of the restaurants. There’s an army of super nice and helpful people to assist you and enhance the experience. Whether you’re there for food, drinks, entertainment (there’s often live music), watch a match at the sports bar, hang around or to just lie down by the beach or one of the many cabanas, Salum Village will not disappoint. Beautiful atmosphere and happy people. We keep going back and can’t have enough. It’s a MUST VISIT if you’re staying at Vidanta Riviera Maya.
