Very nice place to stop on your way south

If it wasn't for Ana Luz, the proprietor of San Carlos Guaymas Realty, we would have overlooked our dream home. It all started months before when I wanted to look at one of the houses she had listed. She told me bluntly, that house would take too much to renovate, and that I should instead look at this other house, that was not even her listing. We did not act fast enough, and that house was soon taken. We enjoyed a rental in San Carlos for a month and then drove two days back home. But San Carlos had gotten in my blood. I loved it there and was determined to own a home for our little family. Then we returned a month later because I saw a lot that turned out to be one her listings. She had owned and sold that lot years ago, as well as the neighbor's house next door. But we saw it was not for us. She showed us another lot that was not even listed on the MLS. My husband wanted it because it was near the beach but I could not stand it was too close to the road for me. We were going for win/win. It seemed that Ana Luz, having been in the business over 28 years, really knew San Carlos realty, the pocket listings and people that wanted only her to know that they had property for sale. We came back another time and this time, I had a list of houses I wanted to see. In addition, she put on the list, one that I had rejected by what I saw on the web. It was from a realtor in Hermasillo and not on the Sonora MLS. But she coaxed us into looking at it anyway. So we did, because we were not satisfied with the other offerings that I was interested in. It was a good thing she put that on our survey because we had not even finished touring the second floor when we knew it was the one. I give her credit for that great deed. On the spot, she answered our questions about renovations by immediately by calling over a contractor to give us an estimate on taking out the soffits. Knowing Ana Luz, a lot of people gave us special consideration. We signed the papers in the notario's office and even met the sellers. (Very nice people.) Since then, anytime I need help Ana Luz is there. The other day she texted me the number of her carpenter. I have left her the keys to the house and she gets her handyman to open the house for contractors to examine it so they can make their bids, while we are away. Because we don't plan to live San Carlos full time, she will be taking care of our utilities for a reasonable fee. When my husband was sick this May during our summer vacation and our car had broken down, she arranged for her assistant to buy him medicine and sundries that we needed and bring them to our rental. By that time we knew that Ana Luz would be by our side for anything. The fedicamiso took longer than we wanted. But that is life during Covid. Our money exchange could have been smoother, but now we are all straightened out. Ana Luz is generous and thoughtful, warm and personable. We will always be grateful to her and will always remember and bless her.
