Sandos Playacar - 77710 Playa del Carmen

Miriam and Jose in the premium bar are the absolute best bartenders I have ever had in my life! They go so far above and beyond what they need to in order to make our visit as amazing as possible!! My family and I all agree that those two are the number one employees you folks have here and we couldn’t be happier! If you ask me I would give them a big big raise :) I specifically go out of my to this premium bar just to see these two because I know I’m going to get the best of the best with them!

What an amazing place for families to escape the winter blues!! The staff at the El Gaucho for breakfast and poolside lunch were beyond amazing from our first breakfast the staff remembered my daughter and her allergy. They checked with the chef to ensure she would avoid any food item with nuts and that was the best part for me. The room was spacious enough for the four of us, although the pull out bed did not come made and repeated attempts to get sheets for it we were still comfortable. The biggest issue with resort vacationing is the accessibility to a good meal. All of the restaurants were booked with reservations our entire 5 day stay which means we had to eat at the buffet which is something we do not do at home and it left us with few options for dinner after being put all day doing excursions. The overall Sandos experience was good and I am interested in visiting other hotels on the Playacar resort.

I cannot say enough great things about this resort! We were a group of 14 and we ALL loved the resort and everything it had to offer! The food and different options were awesome. We had no issues getting tables at all the different restaurants and no reservations were needed. We had a smaller kids area close to our room but we also had the option of a bigger area by the beach. The trolley that drives around was awesome and would often stop and offer to pick us up if we were walking with the kids. The resort is absolutely beautiful with vegetation and the walk to the beach and other restaurants was quite lovely. The shows at night were really well done and very entertaining! Staff at the resort was always so pleasant and helpful! (Special mention to Alan the trolley driver with the rubber chicken) The resort is in a great location! It is located within a gated community with a couple other resorts on the same street. A Starbucks and small market are located a 5 minute walk (or bike ride) from the resort. 5th avenue is about a 25 minute walk and has a mall, as well as a local market.

My first family trip and it was an amazing experience. Thank you Sandos for the awesome experience. Junior from the entertainment team was awesome. Very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and helpful! He was great with my boys in the Teen Lounge. Maria from Sandos Spa was wonderful. She made my first massage experience worth coming back a second time. Maria listened to my needs and I felt like a million bucks. The pools were fabulous and family friendly. Jose Luis, the bartender near the beach and Juan in the main lobby were awesome. They accommodated my family with the best drinks ever. Thank you Sandos for an amazing family trip. We’ll see you again soon.

Definitely one of the best resorts we have stayed at. Had great amenities, staff was really nice to the kids, and the food was great. The buffet had many varieties and all had good quality. It is important to note that this hotel is huge so at times it was hard to navigate through the resort, but after the first day you get used to where to go. They had a trolly service that was great for transportation and overall the resort was well kept. Tons of wildlife and the beaches were clean. For this we give a great recommendation to the hotel, staff, and not to forget the food.

Loved honeymooning here!! Staff was extremely friendly. Dave was especially helpful and went out of his way to accommodate us! The spa was amazing and we went for massages more than once! Food was overall decent. Mexican restaurant & buffet bars were our favorites. Highly recommend doing the excursions they provide on site. So much fun!

The Entertainment and Sports available were great! They did shows that were both for adults and kid friendly. The staff were also very helpful. Junior in Entertainment and Sports was helpful in letting us know what was available and how we could stay involved. He was also very friendly. We also loved that while we were at the shows there were beverages available via servers and/or bar! My only recommendation is to have an earlier show for kids and later a more adult friendly. Since the show starts so late, my children are tired and ready for bed.

The Led Zeppelin, Lady Gaga, and Shakira shows were all amazing! Great sound, dancing, and effects. My only feedback is that the concerts all happen pretty late in the evenings and when they are over all the bars/restaurants on the resort are closed.
