★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have the reasonable expectation that an Italian restaurant should prepare great Italian food. While the service and aesthetic at this price point were quite good, the food needs a lot of improvement. We had three dishes, each of which were fairly mediocre. 1) The salad was wet and the dressing overly sweet. Ingredients were clearly not fresh. 2) The pasta dish, linguini with salmon, was way over sauced and plain, although the fish seemed fresh. And when the waiter served us at the table, he put a much larger portion on one of our plates which was rather awkward. My guest commented about it and the server did nothing to balance the plates. Otherwise, service was quite good. 3) Pizza was terrible. We had it split into two styles. The crust was dry and tasteless, breaking into pieces as we ate it, the cheese was over-baked so was also dry. It was clear the chef took a cheese pizza prepared earlier and simply added the toppings we requested. An Italian restaurant should serve near perfect a pizza and this one was a disaster—lazy, dry, cold, not fresh, and uninspired.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Osso Buco needed to be cooked some more and bruschetta was soggy. The service was lacking as well. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overall the pizza was not so good. The bottom of the pizza was thin, but did not create air or have the nice fluffiness to it, the same goes for the crust. The cheese of the pizza is cheap mozzarella which creates an unlikely flavour for the pizza considering the price. However, the lemonade was very nice, as well as service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Decent Italian food but not excellent. Sub-par pizza. Pricy as any other restaurant in Polanco. Not as good as it could be. Good service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place for meeting some friends of celebrating a birthday. The atmosphere is great, the service is spot on, and the food is well prepared and reasonably priced for Polanco. My only feedback would be about the bread. Maybe I was unlucky but it didn’t have the taste and texture of fresh bread. My expectations of bread are higher from an Italian restaurant.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My experience was always good with this place, but be careful if you make a reservation via Google they apparently don't know how to use technology and write the reservations in a sheet of paper with the host

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I loved our experience at Santino, they have good food and staff. Sadly we didn’t have room for dessert, which sounded great.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were really disappointed with Santino. The waiter completely didn’t understand our order and didn’t bring us our appetizers. Our pasta was ok nothing special and the pizza also, it could of been cooked more. Also the presentation of the dishes were beyond average. The worst part of it all was the espresso. For an Italian restaurant they had a horrible espresso and macchiato. I had to ask them to remake them as they were watery and really horrible. There are much better places to go for Italian in polanco, don’t waste a meal here.
