4.7/5 based on 8 reviews

Awesome place. The Mexican sistine chapel is a nice name for it. You can enter the main church and the chapel as the ceiling overall the venue has many beautiful paintings. They are very well preserved. It is worth to visit. The cost to enter the chapel is only 15 mxn which is very cheap and should cost more.

This church is a hidden gem and well worth the trip from San Miguel. The murals are intricate and really demand a closer look. A guide to explain all of the history, statuary, murals and stores would have been terrific. The sanctuary light was lit indicating the presence of the Body of Christ in this lovely church. Be generous with donations to keep historic places of worship like this one open to serve the flock.

Stunningly restored ceiling frescos and walls. We have owned a home in San Miguel since 2005 and we take guests there multiple every year. I never tire of seeing this amazing church!

It isn’t worth the trip. Go there only if you have plenty of time in San Miguel de Allende. Otherwise, there’s only one beautiful church and there can be a service so you’ll see nothing (like in our case). There’s no monastery nearby and no other places to visit. It’s better to spend more time in magical San Miguel de Allende.

This church is like stepping back in time. There is a sanctuary just to the left when you walk in, it is a beautiful museum like experience. This you must NOTE: There is a small donation requested, they say it is for Maintance purposes. So do donate because you won’t be disappointed.

The old church is pretty impressive. The church's cobble stone walkways are pretty unique.

An absolute must. The detail of the walls and roof are exquisite…. And of course the depiction of the devil inside the church, not to be found anywhere else.
