Santuario De La Cruz Parlante - Felipe Carrillo Puerto

El lugar está bastante abandonado, no hay quien te atienda ni explique nada sobre la cruz parlante y su historia. A pesar de que está descuidado está muy bonito y super natural con muchos arboles, también hay un cenote pero está lleno de basura no muy agradable de ver, no cuenta con ningún tipo de servicio al turista, pero vale la pena ir y ver los árboles de ceiba enormes que hay. A highly spiritual place to visit that gives you the feel of everything that the Maya have been through.

The guy who takes care of the church opened it specially for us (very nice guy). Please make sure to take off your shoes before getting in, we forgot and felt embarrassed. Also there's no guide so look for the history in google.

This is a very beautiful and peaceful break from the bustle and noise of the city surrounding it. It is quite a large area, shadddy by trees and a Church in the center. The guided who greeted me on arrival (there were no other visitors present) were very gracious and answered all my questions.

The Talking Cross, is a very important and central part of Mayan history. The park truly is a peaceful green sanctuary in the heart of the city, of Felipe Carrillo Puerto, which is also known as "the hub of the Mayan empire/region". The cenote, where the cross was born, was an important part in the survival of the people during the war. And the church still holds services there several times a week. The actual "Talking Cross" travels around among the various villages in the region, visiting the Maya congregations, until it returns home. And the Mayan Elders take turns looking after it daily. If you are lucky on your visit to the sanctuary, you will find the Talking Cross at it's birth place, and be permitted to attend the evening services. El parque verdaderamente es un santuario hermoso, y lugar verde, en el corazón de la ciudad de Felipe Carrillo Puerto, que es conocido también como "el eje del región/imperio Maya". El cenote, donde La Cruz Parlante nació, era muy importante por la sobrevivencia de la gente Maya durante la guerra. Y la Iglesia de la Cruz Parlante siempre sostiene servicios varias veces por la semana. La "Cruz Parlante" real, viaja entre las aldeas Mayas en la región, visitando varias congregaciones Mayas, hasta que vuelva a su casa. Los dignatarios Mayas se toman turnos vigilando La Cruz diario. Si tienes suerte en su visita, encontrará la Cruz Parlante un su lugar de nacimiento, y es posible que se le permita asistir a los servicios de la tarde. Es una experiencia hermosa que no querrás perder, pero no te olvides a dejar una ofrenda para ayudar a mantener la pequeña iglesia y el Santuario De La Cruz Parlante!
