I booked one of the bungalows for one month in january 2015 for my parents. I paid a down payment and all was well. The manager, Ruben, then rented out both bungalows for three months. When i found out, he said no problem, we are building a new bungalow in the bottom floor and it will be ready and everything will be brand new. Well, i foolishly agreed and when my parents arrived, the downstairs bungalow was like a dungeon with two tiny windows, the kitchen had nothing to cook with, and there was a smell. A really bad smell. We sniffed around trying to figure out what it was and eventually realized it was the fridge. What we figure is that after the last tenants left they just unplugged the fridge and walked away. It smelled like rotten fish left for about a week or two. The fridge had not even been cleaned! Several different colored stains inside. The smell was on everything, the curtains, the bed, everywhere. They cleaned the fridge two more times and it still stunk. My parents spent two sleepless nights while they sorted out their new accommodation. When they left, Ruben said he was charging the nightly rate of 500 pesos per night, so my parents owed another 500 pesos beyond their damage deposit. This room is nothing like the above bungalows and definitely not worth the same amount so dont be fooled. Ruben is a sheister and a lier. I should have know from the beginning because my friend who stayed there in november 2014 had a similarly bad experience where Ruben changed the price on him as he was at the point of checking out. Its a tough situation because its your word against his. And when I said it wasnt worth that price and I wouldnt pay, he lost it and went and called the cops. There is lots of accommodation in lo de marcos and i would strongly recommend seeking a better place to stay. The top bungalows are acceptable. But you're dealing with a very half assed operation and a rip off artist who will say anything to get your money.
