SB CAR RENTAL - 77560 Cancún

Terrific customer service and no surprises! The staff is very friendly and helpful. I assume they are the owners because they put that much effort into giving the best service. Last year I used Enterprise and totally regretted it. You book online and don't know what they are going to charge you for mandatory insurance until you get there. Enterprise charged way too much, and upon checkout, they snuck in even more charges. I had to deal with corporate to get some of it refunded (via future credit which was a pain to use). With SB I pre-booked with full insurance (mandatory liability and full LDW) so no surprises whatsoever. They were also flexible enough to let us drop the car at the ferry to save us the need for a taxi (for a small and reasonable fee). Highly recommended!

The worst way to start a vacation!!! Especially over the end of year holiday. The information on the website is inaccurate and they recognize this but won’t help, they will try to charge you USD or pesos when you get there extra from the deposit or reservation costs, with no Legitimate explanation. They speak both English and Spanish but once there is a problem they can’t help you. After requesting time to review the ridiculous requests they cancelled and told us there is no cars and gave our reservation to someone that they were willing to pay more. Leaving you stranded in another country at Christmas time with no car rental options!!! This was a scary and stressful experience. The business number is a cellphone not a landline and when they refund you it was not through the payment method we used however an inconvenient alternative. Poorly run website and company with unreasonable staff. Not to mention this left ya with $0 car options due to holiday rates and availability. StAy far away!

Super shady. Their website information does not match the reality, We booked our car and purchased insurances to make sure we were fully covered but once we got there to pick up our car they said we didn't purchase any additional insurance and we can not have the car if we don't pay for the insurance. They also asked for huge security deposit which we didn't feel safe to allow such a big charge on our credit card. Look elsewhere if you are in search of a vehicle in Cancun! Staff will laugh at you to your face and speak about you to another in their own language which was not pleasant. We love coming to Mexico but this interaction was the worst we ever experienced and so unlikely of kind Mexicans but i guess we never had to rent a car before to know the reality of this business!

I really wanted to share a review because myself I read them before to rent a car and I have seen so maaaaaaany bad reviews about rental car in Cancun that i was expecting the worst. But with SB car rental I haven't had any trouble. I arrived one day late, Daniel gave me his personal cell phone and communicated with me perfectly, he kept the car until my arrival it was no problem. The price was upfront, it was what was quoted on the internet. The mandatory insurance for mexican rental car was included in the price and I had no problem declining the other extra insurance that were proposed by my credit card. The amount they withhold on my credit card was exactly what they told me as well and it was sent back couple days after I drop off the car, really fast. It was such an easy process that I had to share. You can trust this company, they are serious and really reasonable in terms of price as well. I hope it will last that way.

We booked a mid size car for 3 days over the telephone and were so happy that they offered a pick up service for a small fee. Taxis in Cancun are very expensive to the airport area. We received confirmation of the rental and meeting time by text message and were warnly greeted by Daniel, who was patient, polite and professional at every step. It was one of the best experiences we've had in dealing with local businesses and we have no reservations to recommend SB Car Rental.

I don't even know where to start to share our disappointment with this establishment. We rented our car 2 month before our trip to Cancun and paid for full coverage and fees to avoid any unexpected fees at our pick up. We had our entire trip planned since we were staying at airbnb but once we got there to pick up our car we were asked to pay $20 US per day for additional insurance over and beyond what we paid(which we already paid for and also had rental coverage on our Credit Card). once we showed them our booking papers which stated everything they still refused. They asked us to pay them $2500 deposit if we weren't going to pay for the insurance and we were going to be responsible for the %100 of the total cost of the vehicle incase of an accident for both cars and etc... We were left with no choice and they asked us to get our refund since they had someone who was willing to pay more for the car (this happened during Christmas holidays). Then they refunded us even though we told them to give us couple min to discuss. This was the store manager who treated us like we were in fault. They told us the information on their website is wrong and they could do nothing about it. Honestly if you are looking to book somewhere else and make sure you don't get tricked by their online reviews which unfortunately we did! I did go over many car Rental companies reviews to make sure we chose the best option possible and this is the end results as you read. We are very reasonable family from Canada and we hope no one will ever go through such a thing in a country that is not their home! We are now left with no car for our 1 week trip and all other available cars cost over $1200 since it is last min booking which we decided against it and we will be using Taxi (Cabifi - Taxi Orange *Similar to Uber*) and it will be much cheaper than $1200 for the week. If you are planning on using these Taxis please be advised they can not go to the Hotel zone area and the airport since only government Taxi's are allowed to take passengers to those areas and are higher on cost!

Almost too good to be true, this was the most flawless car rental experience I have ever had no matter where I have been. Daniel is responsive over email as well as the phone, and is a very genuine, kind, and helpful person. He personally gave us a ride to the airport on our way home, and gave us his personal phone number and encouraged to call for anything we may need if we had any trouble when we initially arrived to pick up the car. It was $280 for 7 days to rent a new Jetta which ran perfectly for us, and he refunded my full deposit the next day.

This company no longer exists yet you can still book online as if they'll have a car waiting for you. DO NOT BOOK, YOU WILL NOT GET A CAR. My wife and 3 year old daughter and I waited at the cancun airport for 1 hour before realizing there was no shuttle. We took a cab to their office and it was locked. The guys in neighboring businesses told us they had closed a year ago. We had to scramble to find another car at last minute.
