Scuba Cancun is awesome! The entire staff is friendly and accommodating. The dive sites in Cancun are much better than Cozumel.

My experience with Scuba Cancun was fantastic from booking through the end of the second dive. The booking process was seamless and any modifications were dealt with with courtesy and promptness. All of the instructors and boat crew worked hard to ensure a safe and fun experience. The facility is easy to get to from the hotel zone via the bus (currently 12 mxn or $1) and offers on-site food/snacks (cash only) and bathrooms. The food was great and will not fill you up before your trip depending on when you are diving. My instructor David was phenomenal. He was both friendly and professional and made sure that any questions I asked were answered in a way that I could apply to my dives. Me being a non-certified diver, David made sure that I was comfortable in the training pool before the first dive and after the first dive gave me tips and tricks to make the most out of my second dive. He shared his experiences diving and was very knowledgeable about both diving and the local wildlife and underwater structures. I can't recommend David enough! I plan to return to complete my open water certification with Scuba Cancun!

Price was right, professional divers, good equipment, big comfortable boat easy to get off and on. Certification program available. Been in business for 40 years. Easy bus to location. Being a big boat there might be large groups. We had 15 divers plus staff, easily could handle twice that. We would dive with them again.

I almost got Decompression Sickness diving with this diving company. A ton of new divers (15) and a small handful of experienced divers on our boat. Most of the inexperienced divers made sure to tell the dive master that they would like to have close supervision in order to ensure their safety. It was shrugged off by each staff member that was informed by those in their care. They didn’t seem to actually care, but told us what we wanted to hear. They specifically told us that if we had any issues whatsoever, that the entire group would come back up together. THAT IS A LIE. Red flags were out, the waters were extremely rough, tons of newer divers and they thought the best location to start us in would be an extremely fast moving 80ft drift wall dive! We were rushed into the water. The waters were so rough that I literally fell over standing up to make my jump in. My tank slamming the the ground and me busting my knee and elbow, NOT A SINGLE CREW MEMBER CARED TO HELP ME UP OR WORSE- CHECK MY EQUIPMENT! So, I stupidly jump in and my dive master didn’t check my equipment, my husband had to rush over to me to make sure everything was safe. We had less than a minute to find each other in these extremely rough waters and check my equipment before being rushed straight down. I could barely adjust my mask before the dive master started descent. I should have just stopped the dive there, but I didn’t think it could get much worse. Well, it did. About 45-50 feet down I started struggling with equalizing and felt as though my eardrums were going to burst. I did everything I could to equalize but it was not working. I could not get anyone to stop to give me the time to adjust, they were all following the dive master down, who was not paying any attention to me. He did see me though, I am sure about that. He did not come to me to help. The dive master just left me and descended leaving me entirely by myself! I sincerely thought I may die after aimlessly drifting alone for what felt like an eternity. I had no clue what to do in the moment of shock and disbelief as to what was happening. I didn’t have a dive computer so I started to cry and almost hyperventilate having a panic attack underwater, unsure of what the safest next step would be to do, not knowing where I was heading and if I’d see anyone at the surface or be so far away they can’t find me, or run out of air. Finally instinct and training kicked in and I slowly ascended making a safety stop. I did not have a signaling device either. After surfacing I was thankfully seen by a boat and taken on board. I started to cry and I said why would my dive master just leave me behind. The crew member didn’t say a word, he just walked away. I went to the little run down bathroom to cry alone. It was one of the most terrifying experiences I have ever had. For it to be with a highly rated professional diving company, I was absolutely mortified. They didn’t seem to care about any one’s safety. The entire trip felt incredibly rushed and there was very little safety information given and no safety measures were actually followed. I still tipped them, I’m not even sure why. But I can agree with all of the other low reviews that all they seem to care about is getting you in and out of the water quickly and making sure they get that tip money. I would NEVER recommend this dive company to anyone.

Great place to experience marine life under water in Cancun. My coach Dany really made me comfortable in the water and I like the spirit of team work in giving best experience for their clients.

Highly recommended! My kids did the PADI Bubbler class in 2019 at ages 8 & 10 to get their first experience of breathing underwater in full gear in the training pool. My daughter loved it, so at 10 years old, she was old enough to do her first Discover SCUBA dive at the MUSA dive site, an underwater museum of statues that have become a reef. After a couple hours of instruction, we took the boat out to the dive site, and her instructor practically held her hand the entire time to ensue her safety. Fast forward to 2021, both of my kids were old enough to get their PADI Junior Open Water certification. We returned to SCUBA Cancun based on our previous good experience, and had the luck of being paired with an amazing instructor, Manuel Pardo, who spoke great English and was thorough while also friendly, fun, and patient. They did the PADI eLearning course at home, so they only had to do some various practical skills, a swim & float test, and their 4 check-out dives while in Cancun instead of spending more of our vacation time getting instruction on theory. They have a HUGE dive boat that can fit over 40 tanks, and it was pretty full both days with 20+ divers. But we had the full attention of Manuel, so it did not feel chaotic. On the kids' first day of diving, my husband and I snorkeled above them with our own snorkel guide (and we saw a big sea turtle!). On the second day, I dove with the kids and Manuel. A photographer took some great shots for us too (which we could purchase for $75). We stayed at Casa Maya both years, which is a quick walk from right across the street - could not be more convenient and is a nice family resort with a beautiful beach and pools. The dive shop also has the most delicious little lunch place on site - some of the best food we've had here! Perfect for lunch between morning lessons and an afternoon dive. We would return to SCUBA Cancun on any trip!

UPDATE: The Diving Company apparently killed two divers with their ship's propeller. That they are still allowed to operate is frightening. First of all the Diving Boat was part of a crime scene 1 day before we went there (s. Update). Noone would tell us what happened. But it did not shed a good light on the diving center. Anyhow it's Mexico and things happen. So we entered the shop which seemed to be run down and old - but a lot of PADI shops around the world look like this. So we decided to ask for a diving trip to MUSA in two days. The woman at the counter said they were fully booked but we could join the trip for the next day. We agreed. Then she asked us for our phone number so she could confirm the trip 1,5h before departure because the weather conditions are uncertain. We agreed again. The next day 0,5(!)h before departure she wrote us via WhatsApp that the ship is fully booked and we cannot - opposite tour agreement- join the trip. Not because of the weather (which we would understood) but because of a full ship!!! Because the notice came so late we were not able to find another diving center on this short notice. As we had to leave Cancun the next day for our round trip around Yukatan we had to leave without visiting MUSA which should have been our highlight here. SO DON'T TRUST THEIR WORD. IT DOES MEAN LITERALLY NOTHING. Plus it's sketchy af with the crime scene...

This place is amazing!! I first dove there last summer prior to being certified. I had an amazing time! The instructors were so patient and kind. Most of them speak English and Spanish. I came back a couple weeks ago and got my open water cert with them. Again, the instructors and crew were all so kind and fun to be around. Getting certified was fun and streamlined with them. Their equipment rental is easy and nice. They also have great food there! The diving is beautiful and the waters are crystal clear. I plan to come back and dive again soon. ?
