License renewal is NO LONGER here. They send you to the taxi drivers union and there is no online information or visible information in the place. The service is really bad, but… what to expect from the police in Mexico?

Much better organized than before. But they could streamline processes. There is still a lot of bureaucracy. Most of the friendly and smiling public servants.

No entiendo. Falso!
It is too evident that the new patrols cover certain sectors where they roam looking for unwary people who commit obvious and in some cases very silly infractions. It's finally easy. Ironically, there are dozens of cars parked in places not allowed, they pass by and are completely unaware that the fact that a car parks on the yellow line, or at an exit, or in the disabled space warrants an infraction. The neighborhoods of the city are full of cars parked on public roads. I asked an officer if that is not their responsibility to monitor it, avoid it and sanction it. And they told me no, that you have to go to the transit office to report it. I don't understand. Perhaps not without them who have to ensure compliance with road regulations? Government without corruption? False!

i rented a car and get robbed by two police officers who asked me to pay a 2000 pesos fine for velocidad without giving me a ticket. this happened yesterday at 10.30pm on kukulcan blvd. 2 policemen who arrested me only because I am a tourist in a rented car. he asked me where I was from before telling the price. i believe Switzerland was not the right answer! to all tourists, no tickets, nothing to pay! If you are a tourist and understand English please read this. Police are CORRUPT MONSTERS WHO WILL TRY TO SCAM YOU LEFT AND RIGHT. PLEASE read the rest of my review and look at the other reviews regarding Car Rentals. What to consider if you get pulled over by the Mexican police : ° Its common practice for police officers to pull you over and ask you to bribe them . They will make it seem like they are "Helping you out" , but in reality they are desperate , and poor and will try to get as much money out of you as possible. #Reference Points: ## Tourist are perceived as ignorant white people with lots of cash, and they will deal with you based on this assumption. ## THIS IS NOT the same quality police you Will FIND the USA and CANADA. This is a third-world country, where most Local law enforcement agents make $14 Usd /a day. So trust me, they have a lot to win from dealing with you. # I don't endorse bribing at anytime, but If you decide to go that route $40 USD is enough. # Most officers have very poor English , but Will still try to communicate with you in English. Most fines are 200 Mexican pesos which equals $ 13.99 USD. Do not over pay . They will take out a stupid book and tell you that the offense you just committed is very expensive. They are only trying to SCARE you.
