Incredible stay at this resort! Food was amazing, beach was gorgeous and the staff went above and beyond. We’ve visited several resorts in Cancun, but this one is definitely our favorite. The grounds are gorgeous with the lush gardens, the rooms are cleaned twice a day and all the evening restaurants blew us away with service and food quality. We will definitely be back!

We loved every minute of our stay, the only thing wrong was that we had to go home when the trip was over. All of the staff at Secrets Akumal Bay was friendly helpful and seemed genuinely happy to be there. My husband and I just spent our wedding anniversary at this property, the staff was remarkable, from our concierge Alan to Samuel and Lurdy at the preferred club who all went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and truly pampered! I have never been so happy with both the property and the staff. Our favorite restaurant was Bordeaux, so good we had dinner there 3 nights in a row the food was excellent only to be enhanced by Rafael our server who I believe truly loves hospitality and French cuisine, he knew all of the wines and had suggestions for complements to our meals he even had the chef and manager check in with us to make sure our experience was top notch! Thank you Guys!! The support staff was always on time from maintenance to house keeping. Oh I can't forget room service who would show up faster than they quoted with a smile. Hands down one of the best resorts I've stayed at. First off the staff is so polite and very accommodating to your needs. All inclusive and adults only which was a plus since the wife and I were there on our honeymoon. Plenty of restaurants on the premises. Drinks are readily available throughout the resort. The swim up bar was our favorite as we met plenty of fellow guests to talk with and drinks were non stop from our bartenders. Almost every night they had dinner and a show which are not my thing but were very entertaining. The resort itself is very beautiful. Lush tropical agriculture all throughout with tons of iguanas all over the place. Our room had a swim out pool on the patio which was great for late night swims with the wife. Pools all throughout the resort and if you want to swim in the ocean instead the resort has an area for itself right on the beach. The water was amazingly clear and warm when we were there in November before the holiday. Thank you Secrets for making our honeymoon a memorable one!

Unfortunately our experience did not seem to match those of others. We had numerous problems with our room, even when we were moved to another, those persisted. Hence the poorer review. However the food is good, the grounds are spotless, and the staff are very friendly. The beach is lovely. We had a few days of seaweed, but when it's clear you have white sand and crystal clear water. Brilliant snorkeling. We saw lots of fish and a few turtles. We went Preferred Club, which is worth the extra. If you go, have a good time ?

UPDATED REVIEW. Would like to happily say that over the past week Secrets Akumal has changed our minds. I originally wrote a 3 star review due to some complaints I had with Bordeaux and a few other things. I would like to say I was very impressed with how Secrets Akumal handled this, they were very open to suggestions for improvements and were very quick to make every effort possible to make our stay better, and they succeeded! We went to Bordeaux again last night and it was very enjoyable, food and service were amazing. Very polite and took every chance possible to make it the most pleasurable experience. I can now confidently say that our past experience was a one off. Very impressed. As you see I rated a 4/5 and not a 5/5 star, the biggest and almost sole reason for that would be the amount of private events that occurred on the daily basis. We stayed for 7 nights and I believe 6 nights there was areas blocked off by around 3:30 or so to prepare for these events. This unfortunately made it very difficult to enjoy the resort to its fullest as my wife and I ideal night would be getting a drink and finding a quiet spot. We found after 8pm only one or two bars would be open, even then you could hear the music or instruments blasting from the events. All in all, beautiful resort, amazing staff, rooms and facilities are kept up very well and we love this place. Only real downside is sometimes the night life is hard due to private events. Highly recommend this place to all who are looking for a beautiful lush resort.

Cannot say enough good things about this place! It is everything as advertised and more! The food and drinks were great with diverse choices; the Relaxing pool was fantastic and 2 other more pools for activities and play. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with attention to every detail. But the experience was only possible thanks to the AMAZING staff! From front desk and check in to our amazing servers and hosts; to the energetic Entertainment crew; and housekeeping, EVERYONE is so nice and kind and engaging and helpful! Highly recommend Secrets Akumal!

Excellent adults only, all inclusive resort. The architecture and ground landscape fits in perfectly with the beautiful Mayan jungle. Every single staff member was extremely helpful and kind. The food and drink options were vast and catered to a multitude of food allergies and dietary needs. Claudio our concierge made our honeymoon spectacular with daily greetings and kind gestures. I would not hesitate to stay here again! The hot tubs could have been warmer but it wasn’t a big issue for us at all.

AMAZING RESORT! Went here for our honeymoon and couldn’t ask for anything better! The people are amazing, the food is delicious, the activities are fun, and the rooms are spacious. Pool side bars and snacks available, multiple restaurants on the premises. Everything was great. Again, can’t say enough about the great staff at this resort. Everyone was so nice with great energy. Definitely recommend!
