Selina Mexico City Downtown & Cowork - 06000 Ciudad de México

Beautiful location! The historic downtown building is really great and cozy, but the rooms and service weren't great. I have stayed at Selinas before with far better service and rooms. Worth staying here for something vibey on a budget, but dont expect anything luxury. Common spaces are pretty nice for working and chilling and meeting new people. We booked a private room for two nights; when we got to the room, the curtains were only able to cover half of the windows. We were not happy with the lack of privacy or the temperature (no AC), so we requested another room specifically because of the curtains. The curtains in the next room were not able to be closed at all, and the room was very bright and warm. After that, we got upgraded to a suite, but the AC was really struggling. Too hot to sleep comfortably. Bathroom smelled unpleasant. The lady that helped us at the front desk was great (no name, sorry!), but there was a male there who seemed really unhappy to be helping. He even helped several other guests after I spoke with him, before working on my issue. We ordered food at the restaurant and a dish was put on our bill that we did not order. They would not refund us even if we sent it back. Some food came out cold, and when we sent it back they had heated up the entire plate, including the guacamole. Some of the food was good, some was not. Certainly overpriced based on the quality you can get elsewhere, but it is convenient. Location is close to the transit, and they have some good events on the Monday and Tuesday nights we were there. Security out front 24/7 who was very friendly! Overall a cool spot, poor management. Private room far too $$ for quality, even tho its cheap.

We have stayed @ Selina CDMX for a week, as a couple. We have really enjoyed it. The room (6th floor) was clean, the bed was comfortable (king size), the shower has had hot water and very good water pressure. It was also pretty quiet (keep in mind, you are in a huge city). The building is older but nicely renovated, also it was beautifully decorated on the main level. The food in the restaurant was adequately priced, tasty, and nicely presented.Checking in and out was smooth. Most of the staff is bilingual, which is a plus.All the staff was pleasant and professional, from the housekeeping to security guards. The internet was solid 23-25 Mbps in the restaurant area and in our room.Would stay again and recommend it to friends. Met some nice people.

A missed flight gave me 2 nights at Selina. I was in a dorm with four beds and bath. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean and nice common area with café, restaurant and bar. The on suite baths could have been cleaned more often, but the common ones were cleaned daily. Good location. Will come again.

Horrible experience. We had stayed in other Selina before and it was GREAT in other outlets. We came at 4am to check in and have previously emailed in to inform about the timing. It was noted by the team by email. However, there was no reception when we arrived. Waited 1 hour for check in, security guard helped us. It wasn’t a proper check in process. When we got our room, the room was not cleaned and in a mess. We then have to wait for longer for a change in room. We got a really small standard room, almost no space for walking. We have stayed in other standard rooms before and it was way more livable. Room was stuffy and toilet was dirty, flush wasn’t working well. On top of that, whenever we need to get assistance from reception, we have to queue for at least 30 min. Slow reception and understaff. Had no housekeeping for 4 days even though we had put the sign on the door. This Selina outlet is very poorly run as compared to our other Selina experiences. Very disappointing.

Update: I gave my feedback in the Colina survey and decided to also file an official complaint to the Reservations team. The Reservations team was great & responded very quickly without question or doubt about my case. They apologized & confirmed that I should indeed get a refund for the first night. We are presently waiting for Selina's Mexico City to contact us and give us the refund. They fail to tell you that from 11:00pm to 7:00am reception at this location is closed. I arrived at the hotel at 4:00am (red eye flight) and security let me in but no one was around to give me the key to my room. I was able to check in on their app but again I have no key. Another girl was also trying to get into her room and she had been there an hour before me. We contacted the Selina customer service on the app and although she tired her best the manager and communications at the location was just horrid. We didn't get int our room until 6:00am. The security guard had the master key the entire time and either was too tired to help us or wasn't informed about letting us into our rooms. Despite the horrid check in experience, the service at the bar/ restaurant is very slow. We had a apartment room and there wasn't enough soap so we had to request it but there was always a line at reception that we never had time for. The facilities are lovely and huge but honestly with the poor service at this location you need to be willing to never need anything between 11pm and 7am and never be in any hurry.

Selina puts hostels and hotels to shame! A place to meet amazing people, with luxury for… an amazing price! (Warning) It can be loud at night, but that’s the point. Enjoy the events, enjoy the festivities, enjoy life! Great staff, events, cocktails. They’ll even arrange tours of the amazing sights in CDMX for you

This hostel is so cute and clean! The vibes in all the common areas are great- super chill, modern, and lively! When we checked in, we originally had a private room with a double bed, but the bed was unmade. As soon as we told the front desk, they graciously upgraded us to a private room with a private bathroom, free of charge. The cleaners did an excellent job every day while we were out and about, so we came home every night to a made bed, fresh towels, and a clean bathroom. They also have a restaurant on the first floor which has tons of options and great food. The location is great, close to Roma, La Condesa, and the Historic Center of Mexico City.

This is the third Selina we’ve stayed at and the fifth we’ve visited. A great base for seeing the main sites of Mexico City! The downstairs has a nice hotel vibe with lots of space to hang out. If we could give Jorge 10 stars, we would! He was super helpful, friendly and could not have worked harder to give us a great stay. The building is old so we had a couple of minor issues with our room and he sent someone to fix them within minutes of us flagging them. When it became apparent they couldn’t fix them straight away, he upgraded us to a lovely apartment - and actually showed us three options so we could pick the one that would suit our needs. The flushes seem a bit temperamental (but they fix them as soon as reported). The shower pressure was amazing - probably the best showers we had in our six weeks away. They also offer free yoga and fitness classes every day. Great value for money, super strong WiFi and lovely staff.
