Ser Casasandra Holbox - 77310 Holbox

First time to Holbox and was recommended Ser Casasandra. Easy transportation from the airport to the hotel, greeted as soon as the taxi pulled up and offered a beverage and cold towel. My experience with every staff member was a joy. Great service and incredibly friendly. The whole area just feels special. We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast every morning as well as the complimentary yoga. The food and drinks here are very very good. The rooms had great a/c, robes, kaftans, complimentary snack and beverages. A negative Covid test was required to travel back to the US and they had them come to our room and preform the swab. Super easy! I stayed a week with my family and enjoyed every moment. Will definitely come back to this special island and hotel. And to add, the access to the beach area across the street was a huuuuge perk. The day beds and shaded areas were a dream. Plus you get to have all the drinks and food from Mojito and they’ll just charge your room. So easy- we were out there every day.

We spent 5 days in Casasandra and it was just unforgettable! This is the best vacation we’ve had so far. Food, service, environment- super high class. Definitely coming back! Steak, cauliflower stuffed with cheese and ice cream was just heaven. The stuff have being so sweet, they remembered all our family member’s names, cooked us when kitchen was already closed and made us coffee to go when we checked out.

I went there with my partner attracted by the nice deco/beachfront space. Given the LACK of HOSPITALITY from the manager/reception I decided to not spend a penny in this hotel. I work in the hospitality industry, the owner has done a great job on the exterior but should focus on guest experience (starting with better and trained staff). I was so ready to use the services and book the hotel for our next stay - and I was met with bad attitude, no accommodation or willingness to try anything. Try other places with nicer staff: Aldea Kuka, Mandarina Spa etc. Avoid places that don’t know how to treat customers nicely - and reward the ones that do with your time and money.

Like many others we were attracted by this beautiful hotel which indeed has great decor, a super nice beach club with comfortable sun beds and perfect location (just 5 min walk from the busy downtown). Food is good but nothing mind blowing - we had a lot better elsewhere. The reason for the stars is for the level of the staff and hospitality which didn’t meet the standards you would expect from this type of hotel. Besides the general tone and attitude from the staff there’s a couple examples below: The bad experience started when we wanted to check in. We arrived at the hotel 2:40 pm and were told that the room would be ready in 10-15 min. as check-in starts from 3pm. We checked into the room an hour later at 3:40 pm!! We had booked two different rooms during our stay and therefore had to swop after our first night. When speaking to reception in the morning we agreed that we would have the suitcases ready to be moved from our room at 3pm. but at 1 pm we received a long and rude text message asking why we haven’t packed our suitcases. Many times we were sat waiting in the restaurant or bar with no menus or attention from the staff despite literally staring at them. Couple of times we had to approach the staff ourselvess to get them to serve us. If you’re looking for the best hotel on the island go for casa las tortugas which is absolutely incredible in same price range. They manage to create the holbox atmosphere combined with great attention to guests in a beautiful setting.

Great spot to relax and walk straight out to the beach - would have been 5 stars but one night GM the beach bar Races had a party and music blaring till 5am

This review is for the restaurant, ser esencias. Although they were out of almost all of the entre choices, what we ordered was excellently prepared. The waiter also went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed the meal. Overall, an incredible environment/ ambiance, but very pricey if you’re sensitive to that.

Our second time at CasaSandra. (were there first time in 2020 before COVID hit). The island was busier and wetter this time but still love the location. The staff are very, very nice, but, again we were perplexed by the number of staff at beach side who completely ignored us. We would have eaten and drunk way more if someone had checked on is once on a while. The only other annoying thing was the dueling DJs all day made it not as relaxing as last time. But we still love it there and this time I had the absolute pleasure of meeting Juan Miguel and Elena in the "spa" who were so amazing I went back again the next day. Beautiful hotel. Definitely dont go for the wifi. ?

Absolutely lovely ! Attention to details and amazing details everywhere. Of course great location. In the beach only 10 minutes on foot to town ! This kind of exclusivity doesn’t come cheap ? staff very well trained and friendly!
