Never imagine living with deer, much less feeding them, this fantastic experience was possible in Ventanilla, Oax. Where part of the tour is to take you by boat to the island of Ventanilla, a local reserve without government support, where they have in their care, crocodiles, iguanas, deer, a squirrel monkey and a spider monkey, for $ 50 you buy a small bucket with vegetables to give them to eat mainly the deer that are so friendly approach you and you can even caress them ?, in the same way you can live with the monkeys, the crocodiles from afar ?. The island is also home to red and white mangroves as well as various types of birds and some turtles, an experience to live and financially support this incredible place that falls in love. Not to be missed! We loved our visit and row boat ride around this crocodile sanctuary. We stood next to 7 foot long crocs, played with a monkey, fed iguanas and chatted with the parrots. We also enjoyed fresh coconut juice at the little gift shop located on a tiny island. Our guide was great fun and I enjoyed talking with him about his life and family. I learned so much! Oh, and they have a magnetic black beach!

This is a place you do not want to missed. The place is a sactuary for birds, crocodiles, turtles and other animals. The place has tour guides for a fee. If you want you can be taken in a horse to the water tour before you take the canoes to the guided tour. You will love this place. At the end of the tour there is mescal and coffee tasting with the local museum located at the location. Before you leave you can also have a meal. The local are friendly and it's a safe place to visit.

A must if you're in the neighbourhood. You probably can't get that much for just 100 pesos anywhere else in Mexico. I loved that the boats are not powered by engines, so the whole tour has a very relaxed atmosphere.

Amazing experience! You do a boat trip through the mangroves and then stop at an island. We got to see the crocodiles extremely close! The wildlife is truly amazing and our guide knew the answer to every question we had.
