Great service from start to end. During the pandemic, they have "blocked" some tables for seating in order to maintain a reasonable distance. Food quality is Shake Shack's standard. In other words, amazing burgers!!!

Believe it or not, this is the first time I'd tried Shake Shack, so I can't make comparisons to the States. I was still on a mission to find a good smahed burger after the Chubbies disappointment, and Shake Shack has been on one list or another since I saw the recipe for the Fake ShackBurger on the Serious Eats website. I ordered a double which was still cheaper than the flat-as-a-pancake Chubbies burger I had the day before, altough it didn't include fries. This is a real smashed burger, with a nice brown crust all over and sufficient juicy-cow flavor for any burger fan. What else can I say? It was exactly what I was looking for. It fit the bill so perfectly that I don't think I even needed the second patty. Making a good burger does require technique but it's not as hard as non-Stateside burger joints make it out to be based on the results. Jeebus. Some quibbles: I'm not a fan of the shakesauce, to be honest, although I thought I would be based on the ingredient list. I will leave it off the next time. The lettuce wasn't even a full leaf but rather a tiny triangle cut out of one. WTH? Is this some cost-cutting measure? Who could even taste that? The crinkle-cut fries were good although I would have liked them better had they been browned a bit more. Not my favorite style of French fries, either, but solid. BUT where are the pickles? No dill pickles on the burgers? Is that not a Shake Shack thing? I also tried the mildly hoppy Shakemeister (Shackmeister?) Ale. It was fine. I like a beer with my meal and so appreciated the option. I'll be back, but not for a while. That doble hit my tummy pretty hard.
