Best Hostel ever, feels Like Home!! I'm so Happy that i find this place, good music, good Feelings, helpful everything wonderful!!! Best Cocktails at the Bar, mui Rico and Made with loooove!

Very bad hostel, not recommended at all. The bathrooms are terrible (see pictures), the shower has two little drops of water its a shame, and if you feel like sleeping good luck, cause the music from the bar and people talking outside can be hear from the rooms easily.

Excellent option to stay in Tulum, too close of the downtown, restaurants and bars. Nice place, very good attention, clean bedrooms; highly recommended hostel.

I came to stay here for one night only but ended up staying a month. Shambalam was great for working remotely and socializing when I wanted. The guys who work here are super. Great wifi. Nice bar. Good kitchen. Beautiful design. Good music. Good vibes. Can’t ask for more from a hostel.

I don’t know where to start. First of all. This rather new hostel is in relatively good shape and the cleanliness is okay. The bathrooms could use some more love but general speaking the cleanliness is not the worst. But what is it then? Well… everything else. The Hostel is run by failed DJ‘s and Stoners, but let me go into detail. First of all the Hostel has no security whatsoever. Anyone can come and go as he or she pleases. So some girls that didn‘t even stayed there ended up talking in (!) our dormroom with some other dude at 5 (!) a.m. Cool. First night -> short sleep. But hey guys one night of bad sleep in Tulum? Can happen to anyone. The fact that none of the staff seemed to care about that… not so much. Best thing was that the dude running the reception got hammered so hard ( and played loud music until 5 a.m. the next night) that he couldnt check people out the next morning. We saw people leaving without getting the 300 pesos deposit back because they had to catch a bus to the airport. We fortunately had the time to wait ( 60mins +) to freaking check out. No receptionist was even close. We could have take everything in this hostel. Also every request we had was too much to deal with. There was noone around. Anyways… great wifi though. Good Location,too.

We had a mixup with rooms. My suggestion would be to call in 2 days in advance to insure you have a room. This is a new hostel so cut them some slack as they are starting up their entrepreneurial adventure. Christopher will help you out no matter what. 10/10 and earned my respect.

Worst hostel I have ever stayed at. Upon arrival, they did not have clean towels available until our 2nd night staying there (and they make you pay for them...). There was NO hand soap in ANY of the bathrooms in the hostel, and the bathroom in our room had a rancid smell. The three tier bunk beds were extremely uncomfortable; you couldn't sit up in them and they shook and were noisy if you moved at all. The locks on the lockers were faulty and inconsistent. One staff member was persistent in trying to sell us a ticket to his other business's excursion, despite knowing we had food poisoning. Overall awful experience. We left a day early once we finally felt better. Asked for a refund, said he had to "talk to his business partner" before deciding if he would refund us or not. Promised to get back to us within 24 hours - still haven't heard back. Do not stay here.

Such an amazing hostel. the staff is so friendly and accommodating, they are very helpful and easy going. The rooms are cleaned everyday and the cleaning staff is very respectful. The environment is very nice and super easy to meet cool people. The bar area is very beautiful and the prices are very good. Overall a great experience, would recommend to anyone.
