El Cerro Huehuentón es el punto más alto de Sierra de Quila, ubicado a 2,528 m.s.n.m. La cima presenta una formación rocosa de más de 100 m con un mirador desde donde se observa parte de la zona montañosa de la Sierra Madre Occidental; el valle de los municipios de Tecolotlán, Tenamaxtlán, Atengo, Ameca, San Martín de Hidalgo y Cocula; grandes montañas como El Nevado de Colima y El Picacho; así como partes aledañas a la zona del Océano Pacífico y la ciudad de Guadalajara.

Beautiful, quiet, clean and safe place, with surveillance all the time. Great variety of flora and fauna, perfect for hiking, canyoneering and a bit of rappelling.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a beautiful area and there are camping spots about halfway to the volcano. I would not go beyond the large dirt parking lot on the left as you ascend unless I was in a group.
