★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had so much trouble with other car rental places in Oaxaca city, so we really wanted to like this independent company. But when we returned the car, they claimed that the car was "new" when we rented it and the tiny ding in the windshield was our fault. No way was the car new as there were scratches all over it, plus a missing hub cap. We reminded them that it was them, who failed to note this on their inspection which was at night and dark and done in haste. Regardless, they wanted USD100 extra for a tiny ding. We told them it certainly wouldn't cost that much to fix. Then, they wanted to barter over the amount. All of this despite the fact that we returned the car in the exact condition, plus with extra gas, and washed! Seriously, do yourself a favor and take the bus. It's way more fun and interesting than dealing with dishonest people.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a great experience with Silvers Car Rental in Oaxaca Centro. I hired a car for one day, for about $500 pesos plus a $10,000 pesos deposit on my card. The car was in good condition and both parties thoroughly checked the car prior to the hire being finalised. Upon return that night the car was re-checked quickly and my deposit was actioned to be returned immediately. It took 4 or 5 days for the deposit to reach my account. The service was prompt and professional. Will use this service again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited Oaxaca in late May and rented a car through here. I paid $120 for a car rental for two days. In addition to that, they had to hold a deposit of just over $600. The car looked very new. When we checked the car for damages, the guy pointed out every damages the car already had. Thankfully we had no problems with the car.
Returning it took us about 30 minutes , but that was mostly because no one was there and we weren’t being expected until the next day. Thankfully they were quick to answer their phone and send someone to meet us there.
My only concern is that the person who attended us said my deposit would be released and in my bank within two days. In total, it ended up taking 16 days for me to receive it. I don’t mind the time since I ultimately received it, but it would have been nice to know this. Overall, I would definitely rent from them again.
