★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place to explore a little bit more of Mayan culture. You can get here by taxi 40 - 50 pesos from town's market. For the way back, you can wait by the entrance of the site for a taxi to show up or it could be better to ask the taxi, who took you there, to pick you up at certain time. Again, the price would be 40 - 50 pesos.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fabulous trip up the road from Villahermosa. Class act museum and the site was empty and beautiful when I went. Overgrown and atmospheric it’s a gem!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The historical zone itself is outstanding but the the entrance features (fountain, three buildings) are in a state of disrepair. Pulling up to the entrance one might think the site is closed. There are three shops but you might have a hard time finding anyone that works at them. Stairs have been constructed around the site but they provide more danger than safety.
Aside from that, the technique of building with brick and rammed earth is fascinating.
