Smilingtulum - 77764 Tulum

My wife and I did two days of cenote cavern diving (4 unique 1-tank dives in total, we are both certified advanced open water) with Smilingtulum and we have only the best things to say about the whole experience! We were referred to contact Charly by our hotel and he was super responsive and easy to make arrangements with. He picked us up at the hotel both mornings and we hit it off immediately. He was very knowledgeable about the area and gave us a little history and nature info during the drive out to the dives along with some great jokes and stories. He also suggested we start the day early and that was a great move so that we were one of the first groups into the water each morning so that the haloclines were undisturbed and could be experienced to the fullest (not to mention less crowded dive entry and exits)! Once we got to the dive sites he had the perfect mixture of professionalism and silliness to make us feel absolutely safe and relaxed and prepared for the dive. All of the equipment was in new condition and he had extra gear for anything we may have forgotten or if it didn’t fit quite right. Underwater he does a great job of making sure you see all of the cool stuff but doesn’t go overboard with controlling your experience. Heads up though (literally) you need good bouyancy control for most of the cenotes. Charly did a great job with starting us with a ‘test’ dive (still an amazing experience) and once he saw that we had good control underwater he took us to the more advanced areas. After each day of diving he took us to different spots for a local food experience and both meals were fantastic. Both days exceeded expectations on all accounts! We really enjoyed hanging out with him both above and below the surface, and we will absolutely be contacting him again the next time we are in Tulum for more diving!!

Charlie and company are amazing and we will absolutely use Smiling Tulum for all of our water activities next time we are in Tulum! Great communication before, during and after our excursions.

If you’re looking to have the best memories and cenote experience, you must give this a try! We had the best time at the cenotes with Carlos (Charlie). He took us to unique places that will make you feel out of this world. Carlos was so cheerful and kind to us, he has an amazing energy. We went snorkeling under the caves, which I thought it was a bit spooky, but Carlos made me feel very safe all the time and helped me so much to overcome the fear and made sure we had a good time, more than a tourist guide, he was like a good friend! We learned so much from his knowledge about the cenotes. Honestly the best memory of our trip in Tulum, would definitely do it again.

Charlie is super cool, professional and good instructor! We had 2 dives in cenote dos Ojos - my first cave experience :) all went very chill and relax. Fantastic time underwater!!! Thank you :)

Charly is an incredible guide. This is my second time diving the cenotes and this was better. His deep passion, talent, and kind nature make him an amazing guide and dive master! He even provided us w mangoes and cookies. He also took cool footage of us which will last a lifetime! Amazing man, diver, and new friend!

I had an incredible time with Charly. He took me on a private drive trip to Cenote Angelita, which was an unreal experience. Independent of your skill level, you will have great fun and always feel safe with them. Highly recommend going on a diving trip with these guys if you are in Tulum!

I recently did a scuba dive into the cenotes with Charley. It was the best time I had in Mexico! He was kind, knowledgeable and honestly fun to hang out with. He told me all about the cenotes history on the drive there and made sure I was safe while also providing a fun and memorable experience! I cant thank Charley enough for taking me out on such short notice and When I come back to Tulum I most definitely will be diving with him again!

I had 4 dives with Charly on my trip to Tulum. I hadn’t been diving since I was certified 12 years ago, and was feeling a bit anxious about it. Charly and Danny went out of their way to give our group a refresher course and make sure I felt safe and comfortable at all times. They are the best and most attentive dive masters I’ve ever had. They were true professionals. I highly recommend them and look forward to diving with them on my next trip!
