I recommend this Beautiful Place up over Las Gotas Laplaya. I have seen parrots in flocks of 12 or more. A northern Cardinal. You see the whole bay of Zehuantejo.

Returning for our second year, we've exclusively stayed at Casa Solana during our trips to Zihuatenejo. The privacy afforded, beautiful rooms, open air showers, and being across from town are all reasons for us to make Casa Solana our only go to option. You won't find better hosts or staff at another location, and the green initiatives they have undertook are a marvel.

Casa Solana - Tranquil, Relaxing and Beautiful. My wife and I just spent our 10 year anniversary at Casa Solana and we had a truly enchanting experience. The proprietors, Melissa and Sriram, have put a tremendous amount of creativity and expertise into designing and creating a unique and gorgeous property perched on a lovely hillside overlooking the water. The rooms (both the junior and larger suites) are tastefully decorated and very well laid out. The food was fantastic, the staff was very professional, and the infinity pool is like a private oasis. Both the larger suites and the pool have an outside shower. The whole experience was tremendous - you can't go wrong with this place. It was the best experience my wife and I have ever had on vacation. I recommend Casa Solana without reservation, five stars for sure.

I loved my one week stay here. I stayed in one of the junior suites with my wife. Waking up every morning to the view of Zihuatanejo Bay is living in paradise. The owners and staff are extremely accommodating and friendly. The breakfast consisted of hot entree, fresh fruit, coffee, baked goods, and cereals. Every breakfast we had was great! My personal favorite was the baked french toast. The pool was one of my highlights. Swim a little and look over the edge to see the amazing views, while humming birds, bees, and other birds fly around the trees nearby(sometimes you can find parrots). Dry off on the deck in a lounge chair with a beer and a book. Another big plus is it is on the hill side away from the center of town. It is secluded. Depending on which beach you want to go to (there are at least 4 close by) it is a 15-20 minute walk or 5 minute cab ride away. My favorite was Playa Las Gatas. For food, they will cook lunch and dinner for you with advanced noticed. We ate in some nights and other nights took a cab to the center of town (about 10 minutes) which had LOTS of options. They have good wifi, hard dryers, safes, electrical, and other standard amenities. I will definitely be back! Overall, this place is amazing! It is fairly new and you can tell they put a lot of work into it! To do in the area: They have every water activity you can think of (scuba, kayaking, para-sailing, etc). You can take tours, shop around the downtown, visit different beaches, and more. You can do high end expensive things or you can follow the locals with inexpensive adventurous things. The area has A LOT to offer. The locals are VERY friendly with tourists.

We had the pleasure of staying at Casa Solana in February 2015. It is a beautiful, quiet, property overlooking Zihuatanejo Bay. The hosts, Melissa and Sriram could not be more accommodating, especially when we gave them 5 minutes of notice of arrival by booking online. From the minute you arrive, you are treated like a guest in their home. The rooms are beautifully appointed, ours had an amazing outdoor shower and was completely comfortable for 3 adults. The breakfasts were fantastic and the honor bar fridge was always stocked with pool-side goodness. Happy hour every evening and just the right amount of rooms to keep it an intimate setting where you will meet new travelers. It is a little ways out of town, but cabs are always at the ready to take you into the shopping areas. If you like to hike, you are up in the hills that offer great views and some good cardio. We liked Solana so much that our room is already reserved for February 2016.

Very nice and cozy small boutique hotel. Views of the bay are great. Breakfast was serve every morning and it was nice to have it directly at the hotel. It's approximately 15 minutes walk to the closest beach(playa las gatas). Bring water shoes for this one because you wont be able to enjoy the water there. The other beach (playa la ropa) is a nice sandy beach. The owners are friendly and they gave us some good advice of the things we can see in the area since we rented a scooter. My wife did not like the fact that there is no ''full body" mirror in the room. There was no iron in the room to that we had to ask for, twice. Missing soap at one point that we had to ask, changing the beach towel, we had to ask....etc So nothing that made our vacation less pleasant but I think the owners would benefits from a little training to increase the overall level of their hotel without major investment because it's very a beautiful place.
