My furniture purchase in San Miguel de Allende was consigned to Solutions. They called me to tell me that the delivery would be made at my house the next day. Six days later there is still no delivery. When I spoke to them, they did not give me any information and only wanted to discuss the money I owed them for non-delivery. They are unpleasant and take no responsibility for the business. A 1.9 approval rating says it all.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The manager Monica is one of the nicest people ever, with a fantastic memory for all of her clients and all about our lives. She always asks how we are and always has a smile and a friendly face or fun anecdote. Impeccable English.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I paid $50 to have them ship an iPad I had left behind. They said it would be here in 10 days. It has been 21 days and it hadn’t even been given to Fed ex until yesterday. They are not an official Fed ex shipper, I think they truck things to the border and then give them to FedEx.I kept getting tracking numbers that were bogus, FedEx said yesterday they had never received the package. Just today I got a message from FedEx saying I will have it in another six days. Arrhgh!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ BEWARE. We shipped our valuables purchased at the beautiful boutiques in SMA with Solutions because they had a sign claiming they are an Authorized Ship Center with FedEx. They are not and their sign is fake. (I checked with FedEx.) When I called to ask for information the manager hung up on me repeatedly. It’s a shame such a beautiful town with such beautiful art and stores can be tainted by such a horrible business. UPDATE: we received our belongings. After our gracious VRBO and Air BnB hosts physically visited the business to help, our items arrived. If you want to ship with an authorized FedEx ShipCenter, check with FedEx first and they will give you the locations.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have always liked Solutions. Friendly staff. And before Boleto City opened, it was a good place to sell tickets to events. But sadly, I am going to have to change to a different mail service. Solutions keeps losing my mail, most recently a bank card that was mailed a month ago. When I first moved to San Miguel, I had similar problems with Border Crossings, the first mail service I used here. Other people shared those problems, and Border Crossings went out of business. Solutions be warned.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ These people are very nice. I’ve been a customer there for years, but also have increasing satisfaction problems with service. My “four” rating is somewhat out of loyalty.
They’re supposed to have U.S. mail deliveries from Laredo just about every business day — or they used to. Got there Saturday after a month and only received two copies of Time Magazine, “the weekly news magazine.”
They do try to eventually catch-up. But by then, the “news” is so stale and widely known from other sources that only the features are of some interest.
And the fees keep rising. Just renewed for mother year: this year, it’s now $4,550.00 pesos just to get first-class mail and magazines. And at least the magazines are stale when they finally arrive.
Packages cost extra, and the fees seem to be arbitrary with no receipts to explain how they came up with ‘em.
Finally, the cost to send a first class letter to the U.S. Post Office in Laredo keeps going up. It’s now $20 pesos for a simple letter, plus First Class postage for when it arrives at the Laredo Post Office.
I was forced to get into a friendly but firm argument with the manager the last time. She’s been there for years and knows the business.
I had to increasingly and forcibly insist that neither of us has to put first class postage on the envelope. The envelope has a “Postage Paid” notice printed on the envelope, and it’s being paid for by Dallas County when mailed in the United States (ie. Laredo).
She didn’t seem to get it. And kept repeating it needs a stamp so it costs me more to mail since I did to do it myself.
FINALLY, one of the young ladies behind the counter carefully explained the facts to her, in Spanish. (She is very fluid in English, too.) You’d think she should have known after all these years.
Again, I really like the people. But what a hassle just to mail a postage-paid letter.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unhelpful. 10 pesos to print something black and white?? It costs 1-2 pesos in ANY papelería in Mexico.
