Had a wonderful time staying at this Sonder property. Our room was well kept and very clean. We also enjoyed the spacious room and the amenities provided.

If you’re looking for a quiet, restful environment in Mexico City, you might want to reconsider staying at Sonder. Apart from its great staff, guard and cleaning crew, it was greatly problematic for us. Sonder Tonalá has paper thin walls which make it very difficult to get restful sleep if you are unlucky enough to get a room in the main floor or first floor. With an incessant beeping sound from the security cameras (we were told nothing could be done about this sound) and the constant coming in and out of guests, it was very hard to get restful sleep. The first day, the Sonder team was great at responding and moved us to another room. However, we found out that even one floor up, the noise was excessive and did not fix the issue. Another thing we found problematic was that the front gate is never closed, allowing anyone in and out, even at night. Even with the lovely guard at the entrance, we did not feel entirely safe. (I grew up in this area and I would never feel entirely safe with an open gate to my house) To finish, when we decided to leave and relocate, the Sonder team stopped responding to our messages and has refused to evaluate our complaints. Apart from our bad experience, the place is clean and well located, but left a lot to be desired.

The room was clean and functional. No local tv, but entertainment on the app of your choice and chromecast streaming were available. I didn't find it noisy at all as some have said. A security guard was on site 24 hours. Location can't be beat if you want to be in the Roma/Condesa area. 4 out of 5 stars because there was no housekeeping without a specific request and $50 fee.

I want to write a review of Sonder Casa Tais in Polanco but it doesn't exist on Google. Check-in is entirely electronic via your phone so do it ahead of time. I arrived at midnight, in the rain and had to fumble with my bags and with the website, drop my phone, crack the surface of phone and be generally irritated at having to hunt and peck my way through check in after a very long drive. There is no one to help you with bags. There is only a security guard who will point you to digital check-in. I did love the room and even like being keyless even though I had a hard time remembering my code. The room and amenities were so smart, so spacious, well thought out, wonderful bedding, everything fresh clean and new and absolute top notch location. Night #1 was great, no neighbors, Night #2, neighbors blaring the TV and laughing and conversing loudly. The doors are not soundproof and actually seem to amplify sounds from neighbors and corridor. It was like they were actually in my room. The TV's are high quality and LOUD movie theater type sound. The hotel provides earplugs. I would stay here again but I don't think I'd chance it on a weekend. They should have a quiet floor.

Terrible experience. Most of the rooms face the street and are in front of a noisy bar. I raised this to the staff to see if I could be changed but they were not very helpful

I was hesitant to book this place with all the poor reviews. I spend about 3 nights here and mainly just slept here as I was out and about during the day. The room itself was good, straightforward and clean. As people mentioned, noise does travel quite a bit here. The front door is pretty heavy so you tend to hear it when it opens/closes. My room was located on the first floor. But it wasn't extremely awful or disturbed me much. The guy at the front desk (wish I got his name) was super helpful when I needed to get my COVID test to fly back home. Without his help, I don't think I would have found a resource in time. All in all, no major complaints other than noise does travel here. The location is amazing and hard to beat.

Really not one to ever write bad reviews. This place was a major exception. No ventilation in our room whatsoever. Granted we were out most of the day but if you go back to change or relax for a second your room is so moist and humid. Our passports, cash money, clothes, towels were all so nasty. Almost ruined my cash and passport that's how bad it was. We bought some artwork and we hope it'll be ok when we get back home. The moister is unbelievable, it's stuffy and almost like walking into a sauna. Try sleeping in that, you'll be sweaty all night. There was no windows to open or even a ceiling fan or ceiling vent. You towels will be wet your whole stay and they charge you to get new ones! Don't waste your money here. The ceiling had black mold and when I told the staff they looked at me like I was crazy! Don't stay here there probably tons of better places for the price you'd pay here. Also they charge you for every little thing or service you may need.

This is truly one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. Our first night there was, what appeared to be, feces on our sheets. They did the only decent thing and changed the sheets. That didn’t help our ability to sleep as our room would hit 85/90 degrees even when it was quite cool outside. This is because the photos of this room included a fake window. Instead of opening outdoors it opened to a hallway. It was wildly uncomfortable and impossible to sleep. Showing images with a window that isn’t a real window is misleading and dishonest. The worst, however, was when someone (still don’t know who as she was certainly not housekeeping) entered our room without a even a knock. She had a key code. She bolted when she saw us but this clearly made us unable to stay. Also everything in the bathroom was chintzy and barely functional. There was weird epoxy on the wall where an old shower used to be (I think). We left and their support team isn’t even apologetic about someone literally breaking into our room with Sonder’s help. They aren’t willing to refund. Please learn from my mistakes and avoid this Sonder abs their other locations.
