★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Poor service, terrible food and out of the control music playing that affects everyone on the beach. Terribly inconsiderate playing music until 2 to 5 am. There is not anyone there and they continue playing the music. Incredibly out of control. Should be closed down

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is in front of hotel under construction for many years. Restraunt is extention of Banditos in town food is good. You can RENT lounges. Location is on La Ropa beach. Not a destination place, but ok to stop by if you are walking the beach.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Here's the deal... On the beach most places let you use their chairs and umbrellas but charge you a fee and whatever food or drinks you buy they delete the chair fee so if you bought $25 worth of food and the chair was $20 you owe $25.
Sotaventos has the best chairs and a great staff that speak very good English. The smoothies, daiquiri's and food were all delicious. Fri-Sun they have brick oven pizzas. If you don't want music, you can sit on the other side of the building and you can't hear it at all (came again on a fri. and they did have a dj and all there speakers hooked up, was played at a normal level during the day, cannot speak for evening). Would definitely stay here on the beach again for the day.
If you are scared about them pressuring you into buying a condo if you sit there, they did not do that at all and really didn't even mention anything until I brought up what was going on.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great cocktails, excellent service and great views of Playa la Ropa. They do have a DJ which plays during the afternoon but we sat on the other side of the club and you can barely hear it. Still a very relaxing environment. Would and will gladly return ⭐️
