I had a wonderful time taking classes here, both via zoom and then in-person. The teachers really manage to personalize your lessons based on your level, even with other students in your group. Every day you have class in a new coffee shop and then move to another location like a nearby park, which keeps things new and lets you see parts of the city you might not otherwise. My skills and confidence in my Spanish absolutely improved and it was overall a really good time.

Such an incredible school! They clearly invest so much effort into creating a topical and culturally relevant Spanish language curriculum that not only teaches you the language but also teaches you so much about the sociocultural dynamics that have shaped, and continue to shape, both CDMX and Mexico itself. Yulma was my teacher for 3 weeks and in addition to being incredibly passionate about linguistics, she has an extensive knowledge of the city and gave our group very purposefully designed lessons that helped my Spanish advance dramatically. I also love their approach that involves having classes in parks, cafes, museums, and markets. I would absolutely take classes with them again!

I really recommend this language school. I took 4 weeks of classes and really improved a lot. The size of the groups varied between 2 and 4 students and every week they formed new groups depending on the level of the students. The classes were given in coffeeshops and in parks and on Fridays we visited interesting sites in the city like museums and markets. So besides learning the language I discovered lots of new places. If I have the opportunity in the future I would definitely choose Spanish in the city again.

This by far is the best experience I have had learning a new language. I signed up to learning in a group setting and found that they keep these small (we were 3 students). Omar our maestro was engaging and attentive helping us to learn in real life outdoor situations which I think is far better than sitting in a classroom falling asleep. The school has a great way of matching your ability accurately to the group level. Starting at 0900 we would finish at 1300 each day of the week and would meet in different areas of the city each time. The first half of the class would focus on grammar and vocabulary whilst the second half was all about conversational Spanish. If you are on the fence as to which school to choose I have no hesitation in recommending this one. Value for money and money well spent ?

My boyfriend and I are beginners in Spanish although we can have very simple conversations, we did private classes with Adriana and we loved them! We learnt so much in such a short period of time, my head hurt after ? She taught us two different past tenses and in a very conversational way, which I really appreciated because it forced us to practice speaking above all else. I’ve found after these classes my confidence in speaking Spanish has gone way up! Adriana was very relaxed and SUPER patient with us, but also pushed us to really learn a lot. We would 100% book more classes with Spanish in the City next time we’re back in Mexico City!!

I first worked with Spanish in the City while staying in Mexico City. After a month of lessons, I enjoyed it so much I have been able to continue lessons virtually from other places. My instructor, Gustavo, is kind, patient, and always takes the time to explain things (and repeat them when needed!). I have learned more in 6 weeks of Spanish lessons with Gustavo than I did in 10+ years of traditional Spanish classes in school. I am so grateful to have found Spanish in the City and look forward to continuing to develop my Spanish. They make me feel confident that I can actually learn Spanish after many years of trying.

I have moved to Mexico from the UK. Learning a language is not easy for me. I've tried several different schools and ways of learning - groups, one to one and online. Spanish in the City Language School is working out the best for me. The teachers are super skilled and educated. And they are very patient, but also challenging. The classes are interesting, enjoyable, effective and also help me to better understand the Mexican culture. 100% recommend :)

I've studied at three language schools in Mexico City. All three were good, but Spanish in the City was probably the best. Taking classes in the spring, groups were small, typically 2-3 students. While it was nice to move around using different cafes, the school is also well-organized with locations laid out for the week in advance. I got the most out of private lessons with Adriana, Fernanda, and Yulma, where we got very deep into both grammar and conversation, but also had strong group classes led by Braulio and Ana and enjoyed talking with Gustavo in between periods. At about $135 for 20 hours a week of very small group classes, this is an excellent deal.
