Spanish School Speak like a Mexican - 06700 Ciudad de México

Jeannie was a great choice for learning Spanish while in Mexico City! She is knowledgeable, friendly and really helpful. I would recommend her to anyone looking for a Spanish teacher.

I was in Mexico City for the last 2 months. My background in Spanish was I "learned" Spanish 25 years ago in middle school and high school. Which we never really take seriously. It was very frustrating to express myself and always depend on google translate. I needed to learn more Spanish to be able to get by with my day-to-day activities. I was looking for a Spanish tutor in Mexico City and all my friends recommended the Spanish school Speak like a Mexican as they all attended the courses and immersion classes. I applied for the immersion classes which is a week-long program. The teacher meets up in the morning and takes you to two locations each day to learn daily activities and how to communicate with the merchants and locals. After each location, you sit down and communicate in Spanish with the teacher about what you learned during those classes. It is cool to see how much of an effect it has on your vocabulary after each location. For the locations, we went to Mercado and bought supplies. I also purchased a metro card and learned how to charge it and use the public bus and metro. I was impressed with the program and when I come back in the fall will use this immersion program again.

During my 3 month stay in CDMX I took classes with Speak Like a Mexican 5 days a week. My classes with Veronica were amazing and a lot fun as well. By the end of my stay I felt much more confident speaking and understanding spanish. I really enjoyed the experience and am very happy with the quality of the lessons. I would highly recommend Speak Like a Mexican to anyone visiting the city and looking to improve their spanish.

I had a week of lessons with instructor Jeannie and it was a great time and very helpful. Instead of just learning in theory, she had a very practical approach of teaching while having conversations about various topics, all the while showing me around the city and introducing me to aspects of CDMX life. Highly recommend!

I had three days of conversation classes with Jeannie and they were fantastic! Jeannie took me all around the city and is very knowledgable about the local history and culture. I was a bit worried about having the classes as I knew very little Spanish, but Jeannie was kind, patient and fun - doing the classes really helped me with my confidence in speaking and ability to understand too. Jeannie was very flexible and can tailor the classes to anything you want to learn. For me as a beginner she even helped me to order food and drinks and navigate public transport. I would definitely recommend Jeannie as a teacher!

I took about 3-5 private lessons a week for a couple of months with Olympia. I had never studied Spanish previously so I went in as a total beginner. Olympia helped me get down fundamentals on verbs & grammar and also covered different vocabulary topics & Mexican culture. Olympia is also very down to earth and was very accommodating to find times that worked for our busy schedules. She also is very supportive and super helpful offering suggestions/recommendations for spots around the city. As a total beginner, these lessons really helped me build a solid foundation to continue learning & practicing my Spanish. Thank you Olympia for all of your help!

I am so lucky to have found this school. I could not be happier with their program, teacher, and process. Their leadership and curriculum is phenomenal, and they truly care about providing a customized and impactful way to learn Spanish. And really speak like a Mexican! Learning from locals who are patient, understanding, and knowledgeable is a luxery. All this in a way that is easy and super high value. Could not recommend any more! If you're looking to learn the basics, or improve to master level. This is for you.

Being down in Mexico City for an extended vacation felt like a great opportunity to improve my Spanish. And after 12 classes with Speak Like a Mexican I’m so glad to have had this experience. I was a little nervous at first because I had never participated in consistent 1v1 sessions before, but my instructor Jeannie was awesome and made me feel comfortable from early on. She was calm, cool, and always patient. At my level, we initially focused a lot on verbs and tenses, and then slowly worked in more and more conversation as I improved. The classes are personalized and focused, but also relaxed and fun. And I may even continue classes online in the future. I would recommend Speak Like a Mexican to anyone looking to gain more knowledge and comfort with the language.
