This is a great family owned boat. We came all the way from Arkansas to take out trip. They did a great job communicating with over Facebook. They set up our schedule, rates and even helped with transport over Facebook. The price was on point as my wife and I were the only 2 on our charter. We were lucky enough to have a captain and 2 deck hands which is crazy awesome for what you get for the price. They will make sure to take care of you and all your needs. I recommend you to bring your own special drinks and snacks. But if you forget they will have you taken care of on the boat. The boat was very clean and up to date. I can tell you for being out of the country we felt 100% safe and happy in our entire days adventure.

Big shout out to Fernando and Beto for a class experience, They knew where all the local spots were for the fish & was well equipped for them. Il definitely be back when visiting playa again. Could recommend them more if your a keen fisher

Hâte to leave bad reviews but no choice here. Booked fishing & snorkeling tour. Communication was great for booking process. We did similar tour before with others last time but didn't catch anything so wanted to try new company. on the scheduled date, no one showed up and after 1 hour of waiting at meeting point,we decided to just cancel. Guy kept telling me they are coming in 5 mins, etc over and over on text message. Later that evening, he was again super nice and apologized. Said they realized they didn't have bate with them when they were on the way or whatever. I decided to give another chance,so booked again for the next day. Here they actually showed up. We went out about 1 km from shore, but motor stopped working. They were trying to fix the single motor for good 30 mins! Finally they did some temps solution, and we asked to return to Shore! Waist of two days at playa del Carmen out of a week vacation! What a joke!

We booked fishing and snorkeling with Fernando and Luis through our hotel. They really are great. Caught a Barracuda right away and then 2 red snappers. What really set them apart from anyone else we have gone out with (6th time deep sea fishing in Playa Del Carmen) was the incredible professionalism when we had a medical emergency. They got us back to the hotel for medical care right away and Luis has medical training as a lifeguard. His care made the situation so much less scary. I am grateful for them!

The boat we got on was not nearly as nice as the picture. Apparently they have 3 different boats. Fernando the driver seemed extremely annoyed with our inability to fish. We weren't taught anything just handed a rod, and said here do this. His helper Carlos was amazing and tried very hard to help us. We didn't catch a single fish. We had a few bites and Fernando was annoyed we missed them but if you're not told any tricks or what to expect it's inevitable. We kept moving constantly jigging or bottom fishing, never trolling. They were nice and hooked a sting ray for us to reel in. The snorkeling adventure was great and Carlos was a fantastic guide for that. They took us back early empty handed which wouldn't have been a big deal if we had had a good experience. Would never fish with this outfit again, I am surprised by all the good reviews.

Had a great time fishing with Fernando.. good communication beforehand in setting up the trip and very friendly and helpful thorough out the day. We caught a nice variety of bait fish before cooling off for about an hour snorkeling with sea turtles and sting rays.. we then hooked into a couple nice jacks and a large barracuda about 4 feet long. Fernando prepared the jack as ceviche on the boat which was very tasty and went perfectly with the beers and sodas he provided.. we took a huge filet of barracuda meat and had it prepared at a local restaurant for dinner that evening. It was a fun, relaxing day on the water with some great Caribbean Sea fishing action. If you’re looking for a day fishing the coast of Playa, I highly recommend Fernando and La Ilegal

We had such a fun day fishing with Fernando and Beto!! They picked us up & dropped us off right at the beach in front of our hotel and we had a really fun day with them! They made sure we had a great time! We caught 5 mahi mahi (in off season!) and a barracuda. They also took us to a great snorkel spot where we saw a huge sting ray and of course lots of tropical fish! At the end of the day Fernando cleaned the fish for us and recommended a local restaurant that would cook it for us! We had a great and very personable experience! I would definitely recommend Sport Fishing Playa del Carmen to anyone looking for a laid back and fun time with lots of fish!
