Excelente hotel, muy limpio y cómodo, con excelente atención del personal. La pileta siempre en condiciones. La relación precio/calidad es más que razonable.

We were very disappointed in this language school. We had just finished an excellent week at a different school in a different Mexican city. By comparison, the staff (particularly the director/teacher) at the Sprachcaffe in Playa del Carmen was unfriendly, unwelcoming, and unhelpful. The school itself was not as advertised on the website nor as promised by emails during the booking process. We paid more and got far less than at the other school. No textbook/workbook was provided or offered. Instead of the 6 classrooms as advertised, we only saw two, with only two levels of instruction (beginner (starting with the alphabet) or intermediate. Our advanced learners didn't get anything out of the intermediate class and there was no effort made to correct the situation. When we learned that the class schedule was different than the website and the sign-up emails, we were told we'd need to take that up with the corporate office. The local folks were uninterested in helping us work out the changes and only very grudgingly agreed to let us come in earlier to get the hours of instruction we had paid for (in advance). Because this was vacation time as well for us, coming in at 7:30 am everyday wasn't very appealing but we would have done it if we had the impression the instruction was really worth it. But it was not. One teacher was defensive and dismissive when the students didn't understand or had a question. She refused to admit when she herself made a mistake and was questioned by a student. Eventually after several of us became ill, we stopped coming to class at all because it was so painful to be there and we could learn the same information on our own. I would not recommend this school in this location.
