M	Mando on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Iglesia fundada por los franciscanos en el año de 1539 esta es la Iglesia más antigua en Jiquilpan, ha sido reconstruida en varias ocasiones. Fue construida en adobe con un convento al lado, 1620 fue reedificada en piedra y mampostería, en 1840 en material en estilo neo clásico, su torre gótica de cantera fue iniciada en 1871, en 1945 se comenzó la construcción de los dos cruceros y la gran cúpula, 1952 se termino su actual forma. El Convento se convirtio en el actual curato este ultimo comenzó a edificarse en 1890 terminando la construcción en 1897. En su interior se encuentran hermosos murales con motivos religiosos, imágenes valiosas, una Piedad del siglo XIX y un Cristo Colonial llamado el Señor del Socorro o de la Tercera Orden, donado por el Rey Carlos V en el Siglo XVI, sus confesionarios barrocos, en el tapanco su órgano tubular tal vez único en el estado de Michoacán. En su atrio se encuentra una estatua de San Francisco de Asís, del Santo Papa Juan Pablo ll y una cruz de cantera, jardines y bancas. El novenario festivo culmina el 4 de Octubre con una verbena popular. Sin lugar a dudas un lugar que se debe visitar en Jiquilpan. Church founded by the Franciscans in the year of 1539 this is the oldest church in Jiquilpan, has been rebuilt several times.
