A	Arturo Ríos R on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ "Su primera capilla fue muy sencilla, se construyó en el Barrio de Tlaxincan donde se había levantado la Cruz de varas. Posteriormente en el año Tec-in-xuitl; es decir el año 1540, en el calendario gregoriano, se empieza a construir el actual Templo dedicado a Santiago Apóstol el Mayor. El citado templo se ubico en la parte baja del barrio Tepetenchi ( al pie del cerro) o también se conoció como Tlaxica-tepetl (abajo del cerro); tal cerro es el hoy conocido como Cuahutepec (cerro de las águilas). Esto se sabe gracias a las memorias de de la señora Juana Japan mujer del gobernador de Tezoyuca (marzo de 1576). No cabe duda por lo ya relatado de que éste Templo fue la primera construcción que bajo la dirección de los primeros frailes Franciscanos se levantó en Tezoyuca; prueba de ello es el vestigio del Cordón Franciscano, descubierto recientemente en su interior a igual que otras pinturas. Por tales motivos creemos que éste Templo debe ser considerado como el Monumento Arquitectónico Emblemático e Histórico por excelencia de Tezoyuca." Later in the year Tec-in-xuitl; that is, the year 1540, in the Gregorian calendar, the construction of the present Temple dedicated to Santiago Apostle the Elder The aforementioned temple was located in the lower part of the Tepetenchi neighborhood (at the foot of the hill) or was also known as Tlaxica-tepetl (below the hill); such hill is today known as Cuahutepec ( hill of the eagles.) This is known thanks to the memories of Mrs. Juana Japan, woman of the governor of Tezoyuca (March 1576). There is no doubt about what has already been said that this Temple was the first construction that under the direction of the first Franciscan friars was built in Tezoyuca; Proof of this is the vestige of the Franciscan Cord, recently discovered inside as well as other paintings. For these reasons we believe that this Temple should be considered as the Emblematic and Historical Architectural Monument par excellence of Tezoyuca.
