Cool town, great food

The Mudejar style fountain is amazing, also the chocolate and corn beverage is worth it.

It's a beautifull place and all the handcraft ítems made by the artesans are awesome

I visited this town in a group of 9. It was one of our first stops for pictures and some shopping. It took about 15 minutes when my wife was targeted by several individuals (men and women) and had her iphone stolen in broad daylight with all of our group near by. It happened very quickly and the phone was handed off and was gone in a matter of seconds. I confronted the man who was on a very obvious fake phone call but was eyeballing the situation (I had seen him looking around before and he was the one who "bumped" into my wife). This seems to be a common occurrence in this town because there is nothing you can do about it. The people and the police, don't do much to stop such crimes. During our trips to San Cristobal de Las Casas and other small town like Chamula, the towns people discourage crime with harsh punishments to criminals, and this type of incidents are not as common. Chiapa de Corzo and Tuxtla are known for pickpockets and specifically target tourist. Beware. During our trip to the surrounding areas I kept hearing the same thing, "Chiapa de Corzo is know for such crimes". Our visit to this site ended immediately after this event. Chiapa de Corzo left us all with a very bad experience. I can't say i want to go back. I did take a picture of the thieve. Notice the Jacket over the man's arm, it is common way to conceal the crimes.

Beautiful place to visit and the town is just magical. Loved it a must go and dont forget to try the local drink POX. The people are very kind and the food is good anywhere of the local restuarants. The festivals are so much fun, I went in January and it is just such an intresting place. The weather was mild and comfortable durong my visit. Recommended for any adventurer and also a great place to just relax.

Nice gathering place. The kiosk has a fountain in the middle, people meet-up here, couples make out, mariachis play...

City centre with hustles and bustles of the local crowd. Very lively, good place for shopping local items and trying local street food. The structure itself is not very impressive.
