Star Fleet Sport Fishing Charters - 82110 Mazatlán

We had a wonderful experience with Kurt and Star Fleet. They not only were very accommodating in setting up our fishing expedition (we had to postpone several times) but were extremely helpful in making sure we enjoyed our entire stay in Mazatlan by recommending restaurants, sites to see, modes of transportation, and local beers. Now for the fishing... we took the Stella out and hooked a big, blue Marlin within an hour of embarkment. The action continued the rest of the day as we brought in a striped Marlin, four sailfish and probably hooked three or four more we couldn't bring in. These guys really know how to catch fish and are joy to spend the day with... can't recommend them enough!

We went on a Star Fleet charter recently and it was an extremely disappointing experience. We met Bill upon arrival and after confirming who we were demanded his payment before we entered the dock. Money is clearly what mattered here, not the experience. Once we boarded neither the deckhand or captain introduced themselves. But that didn't matter as they never spoke to us for 7 hours. They just stayed on the fly deck and ignored us. Supposedly there was lunch, ceviche, drinks, we paid for however nothing was ever offered or shared. While we understand not catching any fish or even getting a hit happens that too was disappointing. With the deckhand only changing bait every couple hours not surprising nothing happened. Clean hooks don't catch fish. I think an unfortunate day fishing can be offset by a friendly crew and captain. At least interact with your clients and discuss what you're fishing for or provide any type of communication. But that's not what these guys do. Before writing this we found two prior negative experiences on Trip Advisor. Both mirrored ours exactly. Both talk about the crew abandoning the clients and staying on the fly deck the entire time. So 1 star for consistency to Star Fleet. On a positive note Bill met us at the dock to tell us "that happens" regarding not getting a single hit or catching any fish. Quite a consolation. I think someone who cares about their clients and reputation would have discussed another trip out, solicited feedback....anything to improve.....not these guys....because they clearly don't care. I don't know what the other sports fishing crew are like in Mazatlan but I'm certain anyone can do better than this company. Sad they haven't learned from prior complaints sharing the same disappointing experience. Book elsewhere. You'll be glad you did.

Kurt was great to work with. Took care of everything for us and even was our Taxi. The crew of the Stella was amazing. Made our 1st deep sea fishing experience outside of the PNW a great experience. We will be booking again for next year's trip to Mazatlan.

Highly recommend Star Fleet! It's an awesome family-owned business with a very punctual, kind, and fun crew. We were a group of three with limited fishing knowledge and experience, but they assisted every step of the way. We caught a 120-140 lb striped marlin and a little bonita fish! They were very accommodating and Bill even gave us a ride back to our place. We look forward to more trips with Star Fleet whenever we have visitors!

Ive been on many charters, Star Fleet fishing by far is the best ive ever been on. Wether its your first time going out or hundredth Captain Alfredo will put you on the fish get your adrenaline pumping. And skipper Toño will help you every step of the way, super calm and full of knowledge. I also witnessed Toño turn a massive birds nest back into a straight line after a marlin tangled it in a matter of mintues! Very impressive. Stella is a beaut, in excellent shape and has a clean and cozy compartment for if somebody gets a little woozy they can lie down or take a nap. The marlin tower thats on her puts you at an even greater advantage alongside Cpt. Alfredo. Let me not even talk about the water here, so gorgeous we saw dolphins and turtles everywhere. Needless to say you will catch alot of fish, Mazatlan has it all. All in all they have great attention to detail and some the best customer service ever. I cant cant wait to come back in the summer and get hooked up with Star Fleet Sport Fishing again.

We decided to book with Star Fleet on a short trip to Mazatlan. We were staying at an airbnb in old town. We contacted Bill and he arranged for lunch and arranged transportation to and from the rental to the marina! Super easy! We caught 2 dorado, saw a few marlin (none hungry enough) and saw the most amazing whale show. Not bad for a January 8th last minute charter! We even arranged the driver to take our fish to a restaurant recommended by Bill and had a great fresh fish dinner! The fishing equipment was very well maintained and our Captain Alfredo and first mate Antonio were great!!! I highly recommend this company for charters. I feel like we are good sources for a review because we have our own fishing boat in La Paz and spend a lot of time on the water. It was a great day! Thank you Star Fleet!

We fished two days with Starfleet and it was a fantastic experience. Caught a lot of fish - including a Marlin - and had a lot of laughter. Kurt and his crew knows everything there is to know about fishing in Mazatlan. Highly, highly recommend!
