STAR TOURS - 77710 Playa del Carmen

We give it one star because is the lowest option google has. We bought a tour for 4 people to Chichén Itzá and they sold it to us as a “premium “ tour, we did pay extra for it. The guys that gave us the tour did their best and they didn’t had anything to do with the lie they sold us . The ting that made us angry was that 60% of what they told us (and sold us) was a straight lie. There was no free drinks, and the conditions of the bus were fare being optimist. My personal advice is not to buy them any tour and when you buy any tour at Playa del Carmen be very careful with the details. My other recomendation is that you absolutely have to go to chichen Itza if you visit mexico, is an awesome place

Be careful with this agency and try to avoid to book with them as they are real SCAMMERS!. We bought with them ferry tickets to Cozumel & rented a car yesterday (2nd/January/2019) to use when arriving to Cozumel. Paid 90 dollars for a jeep that was a SCRAP CAR!!! They sent us to collect the car with CP Rentals Cozumel (OTHER SCAMMERS!) and the people that work there do not have any clue about customer service, keep you waiting for nearly 2 hours (a total waste of time) to tell you that it’s not their fault and hand you over the worst car ever. Gear wasn’t working properly, you could not even open the jeep’s driver door from outside, honestly the jeep was in a terrible condition, putting on risk our safety and when we handed the car back and pointed out all the issues with the car they provided, disappointment and frustration, they even have not shame in telling you that they did the best they could do for you, like they were doing you a favour. We paid for a service at a v high price that we did not receive this at all. I had never experienced in my life this kind of thing. They absolutely ruined our day and took out money for the worst service ever. I STRONGLY recommend you NOT to buy anything from them (STAR TRAVEL or CP Rental Cozumel) and run away as you hear of them. 0 Star. Following your response about saying it was not your agency the one we bought the ferry tickets and rented the car from, I’m afraid you are, and by denying it all it’s just another of your lies. Trying to save money as you mentioned? I don’t think so! We rented to small cars with AVIS for half of the price your agent Carlos Rodriguez & agency rented the junk jeep we received. So, can you please explain where is the saving here?. I have added some photos of the agency and the so called ‘agent’ CARLOS RODRIGUEZ, who rented us the car. All these as proof of the scam.

We hired several tours with them. First of all the first day we were waiting for 1 hour, because the seller didnt resend us news of Sian Kaan closed on time as he was in a retreat. But the worst is the guy recommended me Bacalar over Contoy and it was a mess, you cant see the colors as its destroyed due to huracan and medioambiental problems. You need to warn about this because then in the tour our guide explained this and definitely I wouldnt have come if I knew before. I wouldnt recommend them.

While walking the streets of Playa del Carmen were approached by a man at the Star Tours Riviera Maya. Since we had just completed a tour, booked through our hotel earlier, in the day that was amazing, we figured this would be as well. The man showed us pamphlets for "Adrenaline Adventure" that included 50 minutes of ATV rides, 50 minutes of zip lining and Cenote Swimming. Since we had already planned on going there we figured it would save us a step of booking through the company. WRONG. The next morning when we showed up at the designated location the driver said we were not going to Adrenaline Adventure, but were signed up instead for Kin Ha that also had zip lining, ATVs and cenotes, so we went ahead and went because we had no other choice as we had prepaid. Kin Ha was a disappointment! We primarily wanted the zip lining and ATVs. Kin Ha had a 30 ft total zip line that lasted less than 15 seconds and you had to use your hands on the line to be the brake for stopping. They forced you to lock up your phone because they did not allow pictures to be taken during the adventure so you would buy their pictures that cost about $45USD. The ATV rides were only about 20 minutes and were going between two cenotes. Very disappointed. When we contacted the salesman and called him out on selling us on an excursion, but sending us on a similar but cheaper tour he just offered to comp up a cheap tour if we'd go take a timeshare tour. If you want to book an excursion go through your hotel or the company directly!

Booked xcaret, xenses and xplor with Joel, it was cheaper with these than with our travel agent. We messed up one of the dates but Joel sorted it out straight away and we ended up with three excellent days out. I would definitely use their services again.

Great tour! I met mikel off the 5th ave strip and he gave me a reasonable price for our family group of 9(I think it's low season). We requested a tulum ruins tour+cenote and got exactly what we hoped for. Tulum was hot as expected but was good to see, then we went to the cenote, nearby tulum. It was a 30 min tour through a cave with waterproof flashlights and 2 guides. They both were helping the kids and elderly in our group by pulling them along in the cave, in the 10m deep cave water. We saw lots of bats and small fish, and the cave was amazing. There was a quick lunch afterwards in a hut, food wasnt anything special, eggs/rice/beans. Lots of Mosquitos tho.

I booked a tour with them for Chichén itza. They were helpful in giving me all the info I needed and even walking me to where I would meet the bus driver the next day for the bus. I forgot my clothes in the bus, and assumed they were gone forever. But I checked with Star to be sure, and they called the bus and made sure tbry brought them to town the next day and told me where to go to get them back. Star did a great job of going above and beyond to help me get my forgotten clothes when they didn’t need to. Thank you, I will book more tours with Star in the future if I’m back in playa del Carmen.

Booked a day trip to the ruins and cenotes with them. Worst experience. We spent faaaar too much time sitting around and waiting/doing nothing. Tour took a lot longer than anticipated, was told it'd be 11 hours, it was 13 due to us always waiting around. Worst of all, they tried upselling you on everything the whole time.
