P	Popurrí de Viajes on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Uno de los tesoros historicos de Ixmiquilpan sin embargo no es tan valorado, el lugar luce descuidado y con mucha basura, sin embargo este puente es considerado como el primer puente en toda América, es de estilo medieval y fue muy bien construido, tan es asi que en la actualidad esta en operacion para motos, bicis y peatones. Siento que este lugar lo deberian de rescatar y no tenerlo tan olvidado pero ver el puente más antiguo del continente es algo que tienes que hacer. One of the historical treasures of Ixmiquilpan however is not so valued, the place looks neglected and with a lot of garbage, however this bridge is considered as the first bridge in all of America, it is medieval in style and was very well built, so it is which is currently in operation for motorcycles, bikes and pedestrians. I feel that this place should be rescued and not have it so forgotten but seeing the oldest bridge on the continent is something you have to do.

Fue construido por más de 500 indígenas bajo las órdenes del capitán español, Miguel Cuevas y Dávalos y fue inaugurado el 29 de septiembre de 1655, día de San Miguel Arcángel. Puente de estructura de mampostería y cantera, de 110 metros de largo por 5 metros de ancho. Cuenta con cuatro arcos sostenidos por gruesos contrafuertes piramidales. El arco principal se alza a 9 metros sobre el nivel normal de la corriente. Los muretes o pasamanos superiores han sido encalados, las demás caras están sin cubrir. Al centro tiene un relieve representando el rostro de un felino.
