★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I LOVED this hotel, but not enough to pay twice for my stay. I stayed there 2/18/14 thru 2/25/14 after spending a week in Cancun. The hotel submitted 2 receipts, the one I allowed them to imprint on the day of my check-in and the final, correct bill at the end of my stay. I have been fighting the double charge for a year through my card company (Citi Bank- a YEAR they took!) that informed me last month that they consider the charge valid- it had a "signature"- and now it is up to me to contest it. I phoned the hotel and, just as I expected, I reached the girl who checked me in that does not speak English. I will now have to compose a letter and pay a translator to continue my complaint by snail-mail as I cannot seem to find an email address. I wonder if I am the first?

Then they have charged me after checkout on my bank card
I did not horde my receipts throughout my vacation so I recommend to anyone paying in cash to take photos of receipts as I am having difficulty with this property for charging me twice

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you face Hidalgo it's noisy as heck until the wee hours. Other side is fantastic comparatively. Friendly staff. Clean. Comfortable room/bed/bathroom.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great price, totally renovated, very nice staff, with A/C, shower, right in the middle of the main street, 5 min from North playa. The hot water are not really hot, and can take 10-15 to show up. TV has bad reception and is only in Spanish (in other hotels I have been able to switch some channels back to English). Across the street from a very nice bar with live music.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location... the best actually. Room has all of what you need, nothing that you don't. (It is missing a blowdryer - that would have been nice). Our room had a balcony over looking the popular El Patio. I've heard that some think it's too loud but we absolutely loved listening to the live acoustic music while getting ready for dinner. It was definitely something I looked forward to each day.
The only negative thing I have to say is that we did see a few cockroaches in the room. Not many but more than one. It is mexico after all... I did not taint our experience and I would still absolutely recommend this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great location on Hidalgo street. Affordable and clean. Beds are very firm. Cover bands play late into the night so this place isn't quiet. But the music adds to the lively vibe of the walking street. We loved it and have stayed there several times.
