Giving this one star because 1) I had to hear it from the hubs about how bad it was for 8 hours, and the rest) they forgot to pick us up, put us on a Spanish tour (where the guide kept making fun of us, yo comprendo espanol, but not hubby), then shifted us to another bus, took us on a round about tour. Most of it was us sitting in a old bus that made 2 short stops to see water, and sell us bad tequila. Ended up at a theme park where we spend way too much time as a family of 14 didn't want to get out of the water pond. Finally, ended back not learning more than what I could have done from my laptop. I had emailed the company and the response was "OMG" (literally). Lesson, don't just get the cheapest city tours and research the tour companies.

Such a great time!!! Daniel and Rigo were so nice and were eager to do what WE wanted to do. When in PV we would book another tour with them!

We took Superior Tours' Private Tour: Tequila Cultural Day Trip from Puerto Vallarta. This is a long, but great day trip from Puerto Vallarta. Well-worth it. Tequila (a town, a drink, and a state of mind) is ~4 hours drive from Puerto Vallarta. We had a private vehicle (a new model, clean, and comfortable Suburban) with a driver and our tour guide, Christel, who was knowledgeable, bilingual, interesting, and very gracious. Based on our date and time preferences, Astrid, with whom I booked the tour, recommended and reserved a private English language tour for us at La Cofradia. On the drive to Tequila, we learned a lot about the history of PV, the indigenous people, and had many interesting sights and factoids pointed out along the way. We began our excursion with a brief lunch in the main square of Tequila, then made our way on to La Cofradia. This is a beautiful property, including a bar/restaurant and hotel (there is an option to stay overnight-- which we did not) in addition to the distillery. We took a very informative and fun tour of the grounds, where we learned about the agave plant, the distilling process, how to drink tequila properly (legit!), and of course tasted several varieties. The most amazing part of the tour (aside from tasting the agave piña itself) was touring the facility where La Cofradia casts, fires, and hand paints the most beautiful bottles. They were so amazing we bought two (and some beautiful shot glasses) to display in our home as mementos of the trip. I would highly recommend this tour. Top notch, professional, great service, and pickup and dropoff to your PV hotel is included.

I just wanted to give a big thanks to Juan Manuel for giving us a tour. It was the highlight of our trip. He was very kowledgeable about the flora and fauna of Puerto Vallarta. He showed us many beautiful places on the way to El Tuito. Thank you again and we would love to use your services again on a return trip to beautiful Puerto Vallarta.
